Description
The 1100 Series (1100形) is a tram vehicle running on the Sapporo Streetcar system.

Operating since 2018, the 1100 series is a partially low floor tram produced by ALNA as a part of the "Little Dancer" series. As many railway operators rushed to place orders ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Sapporo City was met with delays in production of the A1200 series, which it had planned to gradually introduce until 2024. As a result, the city decided to order a simpler tram model that was faster to produce. The 1100 series is a single-car type tram, instead of the 3-car articulated design of the A1200 series. It is around 3 meters shorter, but the capacity was only reduced by 11. The floor above the bogies on each end had to be raised, therefore only the area in between the front and rear doors are low floor. All seats are long seats, and the number of wheelchair spaces have been increased to 2. The type is nicknamed "Sirius" as a continuation of the naming scheme adopted by the A1200 series "Polaris". The number of vehicles is currently 10, with production likely to continue at a slow pace.
