Description

WARNING! this sub contains NO conventional reactor
This sub operates via a faraday artifact in the boom on the front.
Failing to manage the it and it's junctions will overload the grid, kill everyone, and/or leave you stranded without power. You have been warned.

Stats and features
Tier one attack sub
Priced: 7,500 mk
Cargo capacity: 14 Crates
Size: 27x13m

  • 2 Small turret hardpoints
    2 Coilguns pre-installed
  • 1 high power discharge coil
    Located on the front
  • An experimental faraday artifact generator
By making use of a unique exciter chamber and specially fabricated supercapacitors the Lee-X is capable of effectively capturing the electromagnetic pulses produced by a faraday artifact, giving it virtually unlimited range.

However the free energy comes at a cost, despite our engineer's best efforts the electrical components used to capture the pulses still take significant damage in the process, arks quite a bit, and makes a racket on par with abyssal creatures.
Watch the health of the generator and battery percentage carefully, and take immediate action to prevent overvolting.

  • A Subsurface electric:tm: automatic battery backup
    Charges/discharges automatically to prevent undervolting.
  • And a Deconstructor
    With linked locker.

In game Description
A prototype test bed for an experimental powerplant based on an old Lee-A hull. The powerplant ended up being a failure, the specialist parts costing just as much as a conventional reactor, the hazards involved in the constant repairs, and the thunderous rapport produced by the system killing the project quick. The sub itself however has seen some success on the second hand market in low threat biomes culling the many small creatures attracted to the absurdly loud little sub.

Notes
Rounded out my selection of reactorless/artefact powered subs with a faraday one, thought the circuitry would be way harder but I ended up coming up with a pretty elegant solution. Might make a bigger one if people really like this one.

hey really rad sub but I got a question, how did you make a round turret emplacement? i wanna get into making subs and want to do something like it

Oh actually use glue, is more efficient

Kinda, they can still brute force it/muscle through the zapping and get it repaired. You'll have to bring a medic and a whole lot of bandaids/plastiseal and such so they can handle all the burns

Not really

How well do the ships work with bots?

It's fine, no there is no way to stop the zap. You've just gotta cancel the repair minigame and get out of the way every 15 seconds or leave it broke for a while and run off the batteries.

Sorry for the improper grammar, that is my mistake.

This apply more to both the snap-back and lee-x. I think I may have missed something I have struggle with repairing the submarines is there anyway to repair them without being like a fly to a electric flyswatter? I'm sorry if I'm missing some sort of switch or something.
