New Buildings
Let's get straight to the point -- no such thing as a city without buildings, right? It's simple to make buildings in Dystopika!

First off, click the icon in the top left corner. That is the building menu.

Now, you can choose a district. Districts are groups of different buildings. High-class districts such as New Eden will typically have fancier buildings, while districts like Lowtown and CBD will only have uninteresting, lower-class buildings. OMEGA corp and ALPHA corp only have one type of unique building.

Pick a district and hover your mouse over a piece of land, then you click to place a building. Press right mouse button (RMB) to cycle between buildings.

When a building is placed, smaller, non-interactable buildings will appear around it. You can use the icon below to light them up with ads and lights!

But our buildings are too small! We can't have a city without skyscrapers. Not to worry! Simply just click and hold the top of a building, then drag it up to as high as you want! This will also change the shape of the building too.

Before

After

You can also rotate buildings by clicking and holding the middle of it, and dragging the mouse left or right. And if you want to move buildings, just click and hold the bottom.
Decorations
Congratulations! You've got some buildings in your city. But they look plain and boring. Let's spruce em up a lil'!

Click the lamp icon under the building icon.

Then click the down arrow, and you will see a menu of decorations!

Don't worry, the decorations you see in your game aren't everything. You can unlock more decorations by building more things and expanding your city!

Let's go through an in-depth look at the types of decorations.

Billboards

Billboards are a must-have in any dystopian city! You can:

  • Toggle through ads
  • Import custom images
  • Cover your city from highrise to house (head to toe)

To place an ad, just select size (S for small, M for medium, L for large, XL for extra large) and click on the side of a building. Your billboard will show up with a pre-selected ad!

You can toggle through ads on a billboard by pressing RMB.

Or, and here's the good part,

You can import your own custom images from your computer.

That's right. Any, and I mean ANY image, you can put in this game.

Want a cat? Sure!

How 'bout a inspirational quote? Yup!

What about a #SAVETF2 poster? Mhm! (valve for god sake fix your game)

Logos

The many logos in Dystopika are in a different, fictitious language only found in Dystopika's world. They come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and colors.

Alpha Corp and Omega Corp, two different districts in the building menu, also come with their own logos.

Just like billboards, logos are also placed on the side of buildings, this time as a neon sign and not an advertisement or image.

Text signs

Text signs in Dystopika are similar to the corporate logos, however, you can make them into any word or sentence you want.

For example, here I wrote:

Misc

Miscellaneous decorations are completely unique and serve their own functions.

Small landing pads have flying cars constantly lifting off, while large landing pads will have blimps with advertisements floating around the area. Factories produce smoke, antennae are decorational, highway indicators produce large amounts of traffic, and hologram projectors create 3d images from light such as a hand holding a piece of geometry, or a whale swimming around.

Unlocking objects
Some objects are not available unless you meet a specific goal. Most of these goals are making new buildings, but others require you to earn achievements.
To unlock this game's full potential and earning all of its tools, go wild on your city! Create as many buildings as possible to earn items, cover those buildings with decorations for achievements, and when you're all done, just click the icon below to destroy your city and rebuild!
Extra
This is the final section of Dystopika basics, where I show you what other buttons do, how to use the camera mode, and everything else!

Saving

Click the icon above to save your city build, so you can load it when switching cities, or to share with your friends.

Changing the weather, music & time of day

Click the icon above to copy your city seed, change your music, city's time of day or weather!

Camera Mode

Camera mode has a lot of features that I will not be able to cover, so have a play of it yourself in the game! Customize your camera as much as you want to make your city look the way you want.

Thanks for reading!
Thank you for reading my first ever steam guide! I had a lot of fun with making it, but not as much fun as playing this game. I hope this helped you a lot and you have a lot of fun with Dystopika!!

To rotate roads you need to manipulate end points (columns) of the road. You place it then you select big circles on the side and can move it around. Road will connect this circles. I couldn`t find how to connect them. You can technically place them one over another and manipulate traffic settings

shampoo -- if you go to your task manager (ctrl + shift + escape), try to see what resource the game is hogging/maxxing-out. My suspicion is that it's a GPU issue, because for me, it uses like 85% of my GPU, and around 4 of my 12g of vram.
