Sample: Autocannons

Beskrivning
A sample mod adding a new weapon type (autocannons) with 3 different models. Pass time in the overworld outside the first province to trigger the event and receive them. The weapons are also eligible to spawn with different rarities on long-range enemy units and have associated workshop projects.

Demonstrates a number of different modifications:
- Using the config overrides to add new weapon parts, workshop projects and an overworld event.
- Adding new player facing text using the localization edits.
- Using the attachment field on subsystems to kitbash weapon visuals.
- Adding new UI icons and event illustrations.

yeah sadly enemy can use this gun too :( try to mod myself but the mod structure kinda annoying

To anyone using this mod and having problems with the light and sniper autocannons being bad:

Try increasing their base AoE to 7 or 8. Their base damage is also a little low, but the AoE change alone should make the weapons much more usable. (I bumped the LAC/SAC base damage value from 64 to 70.) Also, make sure to bump up their impact radius as well as the damage radius (the impact radius is a pathetic 3 for the LAC/SAC and 5 for the UHAC; try 5 and 10 instead, respectively).

With these tweaks, the ACs are very effective, to the point that the UHAC might be a little TOO strong; the amount of Concussion damage is without equal. (Its accuracy is pretty awful, though, and it scatters pretty wildly even with a low Scatter stat)

this is a must have.

the heavy auto cannon is a game changer in early open maps the 2 two lighter versions are hit and miss with hits not registoring, good models and fits in the world well

@hazzaman you have to go into the steam mods folder, in there go to equipment and then subsytems and there youll find the weapons stats and theres one for the radius that you can change

Hi, hope this can help. I searched in the files and since the author let them be modified (I hope so) I made a few changes in the radius of the autocannons and now they do dmg. The radius set ATM is very small its like 1m or alike, making it hit something asnd deal 0 dmg so I changed it to 5 or (around) for the standard and sniper versions and 15 for the heavy (base is 10) which made them deal some dmg although the damage feels extremely low for my idea of an autocannon. In the same file (1 for each AC) you can also change the damage and more. I hope this is usefull. (Sorry if I made any writting mistakes)

Neat looking but the autocannon does no damage, it hits something, there is an explosion but does 0 damage

Was fun to use, but at level 6+ the damage falls off and become meh to use.

yeah they dont do any damage and the ai does not seem to know how to use them....sad
