Brynmawr

Info
Scout (Tier 1) Cost: 9000Mk Recommended crew size: 3-5 Cargo capacity: 4 crates 3 Hardpoints (3 light) 1 Depth charge launcher

The Brynmawr submarine is built for escort duty with strong frontal firepower and a compact design. It boasts a potent engine for its size, ensuring decent mobility, though it suffers from a fuel-hungry reactor. To maximize its capabilities, the crew must manage power efficiently and strategically position weapons.

The Brynmawr is the sixth ship by Dyfed Shipyards. Any feedback is appreciated!

Great sub - but unfortunately in the rear ballast tank theres a spot in the left-most corner where bots get stuck, so my favourite mechanic in a 15+ hour save got stuck there and suffocated from lack of oxygen :/

Can also confirm the bots struggle to use the periscopes near the stairs, and also doesn't seem like the depth charge gets launched either.

Still love this sub either way, but would be great to see these small issues resolved!

Depth charge ain't working for me. Am i dumb or it's something else?

@FRONK. I'll do my best to address this. Thanks

Hiya, love this sub but have one issue:
Bots on this sub struggle to use the left-most periscope in the weapons compartment when coming up from the stairs. Would it be possible to fix this?

@ThunderCougarFalconBird, I'm just happy to help fix issues. Of course, you can keep the docking and junction as you wish. Like I said, it's a comfortable and unique element that will make the sub memorable, I guess

Nice ship, only thing I'd change is to space out the diving lockers more. Mudraports after all dont discriminate between doors and hulls xd.

I can already see half my mates dying due to see pressure cause the back of the ship got blow open :)

@Svechous Thank you for your feedback! I swear I had renamed the rooms, but I guess I hadn't. I have corrected this mistake, thank you for catching that. I had also missed the firing arc of the top L gun, it was intended to be as you mentioned. I have corrected this as well. As for the docking port, and junction flooding, I considered your suggestions. They are very good ideas, but I am fine with how this part of the ship currently functions, and will be keeping it untouched. I feel it is in line with how other vanilla ship duct blocks work; letting the water drain to the lowest part of the ship. I also will keep the docking port room open to engineering. I had originally planed for a door dividing the rooms, but I liked how it flowed on the remora and the winterhalter. You are welcome to edit and post your own version to the workshop if you'd like. Thank you very much for your feedback, and for playing my ship :steamhappy:

After all I feel Humpback and Dugong vibe. It's a balanced sub with some specials and mostly those raised up turret platforms. I like the way it looks and filled, would be a nice vanilla sub.

If I stop poking around for names, there are no doors between the docking and engineering compartments, which is kind of comfortable to move through, but unsafe. Their total volume can only stop the sub from ascending at 53% flooding, and then the water will fill the stowage and start hitting the junction boxes. I see that doorless connection as a cool element, so if it stays I'd suggest adding an And component to the drain and a ceiling water detector, invert its outputs 0/1 so the duct won't open unless there's no way to actually dump the water down. It might even make sense to use a stowage floor water detector and a Not component to prevent the junction boxes from flooding if there is any water in the stowage.

The top left corner of the turret should allow you to shoot at creatures attacking engineering. This would allow for a sub to be wounded by this turret, but.... it's a attention or clown issue, I think.

Hey!

The very forward small hulls accidentally got the names gunnery compartment and armoury. Btw I think it would be better to rename the gun control room from command room exactly to gunnery compartment (no confusion with bridge) . Also the junction box room would most likely be called the electrical room, but you may have made it the storage room, then it's ok. Because of the location of the ballasts, it makes sense to use the names "front ballast" and "rear ballast" (these are all preset and automatically translated names).
