If you have other mods and they change the same value, you might need to give this mod priority in the load order, to have them not overwrite it. (which should be quite save as it changes only one value)
Exceptions will be if they join a faction through a focus (as then the ai will not do the normal diplomatic considerations)
And the already mentioned "it still allows them to join factions you are already at war with"
