If you happen to have a PC capable of running VRChat, I'd pick up Virtual Desktop or run the Steam Link app. Both let you keep the portability of the Quest 2 while having the power of the PC. PC is just more fun imo.
I think a lot of the original distaste came from PC users after Spookality 2020 or 2021. Everyone always looked forward to these new amazing horror maps and halloween themed worlds... and then all of the worlds were "optimized" for quest and they all looked like PS1 games. People back then couldn't upload two versions of a world like they can now, and people were angry. It's definitely better now, but PC users are still a bit bitter of feeling like their progress is being held back as you mentioned above.
