Item Cannon

Description
**Item Cannon** adds three 2x2 structures to the game that are suitable for both offensive and defensive use. They have the inventory space of a Cargo Hold and can use ANY item as ammo. The first version unlocked launches unguided projectiles and the second version launches GUIDED projectiles. The latest version is unlocked very late game, requiring black hole research, and fires guided projectiles much quicker.

The mass of the item used affects many aspects:

Damage increases as mass increases
Area of Effect radius increases as mass increases
Heat generation increases as mass increases
Range decreases as mass increases
Speed decreases as mass increases

Item Cannons have 2 modes: automatic, which is their default mode, and manual

***Automatic:***
The item cannon will target enemies that enter their range, as indicated by the range indicator shown on hover.
When enemies are within range the dome of the Item Cannon will turn red and it will fire on enemies.
When no enemies are within range the dome will be gray and the cannon will rotate.

***Manual:***
Manual mode can be activated by holding the ALT key. While the ALT key is held all Item Cannons within range of the mouse location will turn green and aim at the mouse location.
Press (or hold) the left mouse button to fire the Item Cannons at the mouse position.
If the mouse location moves too far from a given Item Cannon's location it will go back to automatic mode.

Additional notes:

Firing rate is currently fixed (might change) and is intentionally slow, as these are meant more for support rather than for exclusive use for offense/defense.
Item Cannons will use TWICE their idle power when in combat (red dome) OR in manual mode (green dome)
Item Cannons will only generate heat when in combat (red dome) OR in manual mode (green dome)
Projectiles LOOK (with some exception for items using placeholders) like the item type used as ammo.
Projectiles will explode and do AOE damage if they are close enough to an enemy OR reach the end of their range.
Projectiles CAN be shot down by enemies - if they do then no AOE damage will occur.
If an Item Cannon runs out of ammo the dome will turn yellow.
Item Cannons need to be at full power in order to operate. Note that their power requirements increase when in use so if that causes insufficient power then it will stop shooting.
Beware that you can cope with the heat generated by shooting your ammo of choice, heat generation varies by mass of ammo. No heat is generated when not in combat/manual mode.
Item Cannon II requires more power and generates more heat than Item Cannon but also has increased range and slightly increased fire rate, in addition to shooting guided projectiles instead of unguided.

Final note:

When placing Item Cannons make sure to place them so the barrel initially points up, which is the default orientation, otherwise manual mode won't aim it properly.
