Rowland Retail Co.

The Rowland Retail Company specialises in wholesale marketing and business finance. The company also owns hundreds of commercial properties across the country, including many well known chain-stores such as 'Pizza Palace'.

This skyscraper was completed in 1996 and has been nicknamed the 'Seascraper' by city residents due to its unusual turquoise blue colour.
The choice of colour is no mistake. The South African founder of the company was once quoted as saying 'I asked the architects and I chose the colour, simply because, it often reminds me of the crystal blue waters off the coast of my hometown.' He still makes regular visits to the tower for official business.

An Architectural firm based in London was tasked with designing the new national headquarters. They have subsequently won awards for their work, including an award for this structure in 1997.
