Wealth never seems to be an issue for me once I get past the really early game. You can see in the video linked below that I'm earning 1,147 wealth per turn in the Age of Revolution. In this same campaign, I was earning 300 wealth each turn in the earlier Age of Renaissance. I've maintained a good size military throughout the campaign while earning this good amount, and have been able to completely conquer two AI countries, despite not really focusing on the war.

There are a lot of goods that grant wealth, particularly those that you turn into cloth/textiles (e.g. wool, cotton) and gold (which you can later turn into jewelry). There are also buildings that grant wealth. But one of the best ways to get money is with a merchant, send one to a highly populated foreign city and they'll earn tons of money for your. Later in the game when the social fabric system unlocks, you can invest military xp to reduce the cost of unit maintenance.
A regarder attentivement, courageusement, après quelques parties ; on y retrouve le souffle, et aussi de l'intérêt. A mon humble avis.
Aloha !
