This is only content-adding mod. No game mechanics were changed.

Brief summary of the lore is here:

In 1458, a war broke out between the Habsburg Emperor and the Kingdom of France over succession to the Burgundian throne.

Hussite King Jiří I of Bohemia used the opportunity to avenge the Battle of Marchfeld, laid a 68-day siege, and burned Vienna to the ground.

As it turned out, this act changed the course of history. The Habsburg imperial authority was never able to recover and was completely broken by the combined pressure of the continuing Czech-French alliance and the Turkish scourge from the south. With power within the Empire shifting towards Prague (though Poděbrad Kings were never elected Holy Roman Emperors), the reformation of the Christian faith branched far and wide beyond the borders of Germany to France, Poland, and the Balkans. Thanks to this, Poděbrad kings were able to muster a pan-European alliance against Turks, and after a series of devastating wars, Constantinople was finally retaken in 1584.

Among others, the Republic of Venice benefited from opening the Middle East to Europeans and after gaining control of the whole Apennine peninsula, declared a Most Serene Republic of Italy in 1590.

Imperial authority gradually weakened, culminating in a final attempt to revive it during the Imperial Civil War. Afterward, the Emperor, having fled to Gotland with Russian support, became a ruler in name only. The Holy Roman Empire was formally abolished by Michael II of Czechia in 1653, who subsequently proclaimed himself Emperor of Czechia. While the French exerted dominance over all the lands west to the Rhine, a bloc of mostly Czech-influenced states was formed in the rest of the Reich. An exception to the Franco-Czech dominance was the Kingdom of Westphalia, where german Catholics found a safe haven and which remained a fully independent force.

In the New World, several powerful postcolonial nations emerged, while parts of the continent still remain in the hands of European powers. Africa and the Pacific are under firm European control with the exception of Coptic powers in the Northeast and Arabian colonies in Zanzibar.

After the Fall of the Ottomans in the second half of the 17th century, European powers led by Italy were able to impose a new order on the Middle East. Italy controls Egypt and seized the Holy Land. Christianity reemerged in Syria, while united Arabia was able to gain colonial possessions in the Indian Ocean. The Greeks gained control over their ancestral lands in coastal Anatolia, and Christian states of Georgia and Armenia emerged as a frontier against the mighty Shahdom of Persia.

Further east, in India, the Muslim Empire of the Mughals controls much of the Ganges together with the Tibetan plateau and even beyond. The southern part of the Indian subcontinent is controlled by a Hindu empire of Vijayanagar, determined to unite all of India, while in the east lies Bengal, with its own ambitions in Indochina.

As an aftermath of Polish refusal to join the Crusades, territories of the Polish Commonwealth were divided between Prague and Moscow for the sake of the war effort during reign of Otakar I. After the ousting of the Turks, relations between Czechs and the Tsardom of Russia deteriorated, eventually leading to a bloody war in 1755-1784. Despite the burning of the Kremlin, the rise of the French revolution brought an abrupt end to the conflict, and the status quo in Eastern Europe stayed the same.

Red and White Ruthenia are divided between the powers, and in the south sits the independent territory of Ukraine. It seems that the new Tatar regime in Russia isn't satisfied with the status, having recently exerted their influence in the formally independent Crimea, and there is much bloodshed to be expected in this region.

In the Baltics, a power dynamics set by the Öresund War is still in place, with Prussia and Curonia as foremost regional powers.

After 1784, the balance of power in Europe was wobbled by the French Revolution. This event crashed the centuries-enduring Czech-French alliance and reshuffled the balance. French armies stormed their former vassals on the left bank of the Rhine, and France emerged as the most powerful state in Europe with a huge industrial base and vast colonial holdings.

Britain has long abandoned any ambitions on the continent, fully focusing on building its colonial dominion, although it recently lost a brutal war with it's former colony of New Sussex. Its role in the future of Europe remains a great mystery.

The future of Spain, deeply wounded by the loss of its most valuable colonies and burdened by the growing problems with an uncontrolled Moorish population, remains uncertain and clouded.

The mod is adjusted for 1.7.x!

I've also created discord (https://discord.gg/b2SWpdGM) , which has 2 primary objectives: 1) place to report bugs 2) real-time developers log.

I am also working on creating a wiki for the mod, where I intend to offer more alt-historical lore to the realm of Czechvicky - historical figures, wars and events mentioned in the mod will be described more deeply and with more context here.

You can find wiki here: https://czechvicky.fandom.com/
