Havel was one of the faster NPCs in darksouls, he may not have rolled much any any of my fights with em, but he was certainly much faster than character who's weight was over 70% capacity in this game.
I honestly remember the first time I saw Havel, my thought was "Hey, this guy is completely geared out in obviously heavy armor, he has to be slow, no matter how tough he is thi will be no problem." (Having played a lot of demon's souls by now I was quite skilled at backstabbing slow people) Then I got close, he started moving for me and I just went "Nope, nope, nope." and proceeded to get cornered and hammered.
One of his big points was that while others struggled to wear his armor, he felt like it was nothing. They didnt call em the rock because he was slow. They called him that because he was heavy and tough to break.
You are wrong when you say that all great hammer attacks can be parried. The two-handed light and heavy attacks of the Dragon Tooth cannot be parried. Neither can the jumping attacks. (One handed attacks, running attacks, and rolling attacks are fair game.)
PS: This guide STARTED by stating that this is for those planning on even using just three pieces of the armor, because it just looks stupid and it's, as many would say, "cheap". Yes I repeated a part of the statement above.
