Description
Classic Chernarus
New update on November 28th, 2024: - Grid coordinates fixed - Footstep sounds fixed - Some performance impovements - Some foliage and clutter updated

This is the classic Chernarus map which originated in Arma 2. This version was ported by the Breaking Point team and later updated/patched by myself for BreakingPoint.

This version of the map has had a large face lift, while focusing on balancing visuals and performance. This is not a post apocalyptic map but does have some minor war torn elements in various places. Overall map size is 225 square km, around 160 square km not counting water areas.
  • New vegetation/clutter.
  • New skybox.
  • New water.
  • Overall performance improvements. Enjoy higher FPS.
  • Nearly every house on this map is now enterable and are mostly using the better looking Livonia models.
  • Custom soundsets and soundshaders.
  • I have used elements mostly from Livonia, Altis and CUP Terrains with some minor elements from Tanoa.
  • The original source files for this version of the map were gone before I began working on it, therefore the core of the landscape and the satmap have not been changed or updated from the original version.



This does include a server key.



Troubleshooting:
  • Do not run CUP Terrains Maps with this mod. It has it's own version of Chernarus and this will cause a conflict. You only need CUP Terrains Core!
  • There is no reason to run more than one modded map at the same time. Every map references CfgWorlds and can break elements of other maps if there are conflicting configs or base classes.
  • Some of the replaced buildings have minor issues with the ground above floor level. This is because the original Chernarus was full of buildings that were never intended to be entered by players. When I switched the models some of those areas are now accessible by players. In some cases I have attempted to adjust the height and placement of some buildings, but really the landscape itself needs an overhaul with the shape in various places.
