Ars Mythica - Skyrunner Psycasts Expansion

Description

Ars Mythica - Skyrunner is my love letter to Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archives. It is my favorite fantasy series and has inspired me countless times. Skyrunners are the embodiment and culmination of two orders from the books, the Windrunners and Skybreakers, both take to the sky and fight for what they believe in. Skyrunners take more from Windrunners as Windrunners are in essence "Those who protect"

Inquisitors and the new Authority tree takes a more minimal approach to being connected to one of the orders of the Knight Radiant, instead of outright creating the Skybreakers from the book which are essentially a bit more destructive Windrunner, I created the Order of Inquisitors, which use the Authority tree. Authority is by all sense the control of natural forces, which lead to some incredible destructive prowess in those who use the psycast tree.

Yes, the Skyrunners and Authority Psycasters share abilities because they are psycast siblings that diverge at a certain point (completely for my own Roleplay reasons lol). One being to protect and one being to destroy. It's supposed to mimic the Windrunners and Skybreakers who share similar abilities in The Stormlight Archive.

Psycast Content:
Skyrunner Psycast Tree

Skyrunners by their nature aren't considered destructive beings, they were created with the intent on being frontline soldiers in hand-to-hand feudal combat, they are still incredibly strong, but don't have destructive force behind them.

Skyrunners are protectors. They use their speed, strength, agility and flight to fight for what they believe in. Skyrunners have incredible healing capabilities that can regenerate limbs and seal their own wounds at incredible speeds.

The Skyrunner Tree includes Psycasts that are focused around speed, agility, combat prowess and healing.

Authority Psycast Tree

Authority is the new Psycast tree in Ars Mythica - Skyrunner.

Authority is the Psycast tree of control, of destruction and obliteration.

The Order of Inquisitors is a Imperial sect that was established to destroy any unauthorized Psycasters within the Empire's jurisdiction. Authority as a Psycast tree was said to have been derived off of the Skyrunner psycast tree and melded together with abilities from ancient metallic manuscripts from a long forgotten Archotech, creating the powerfully destructive Authority psycast tree.

- "Why is this mod so overpowered? Why don't you balance it?" It's my philosophy when it comes to fantasy in any capacity whether it's movies/games/video games or mods that there should be things that are overpowered, and personally I enjoy things that are overpowered, it makes the game fun for me and in the end that's why I play games, to have fun!

- "Will you be expanding the mod still with new Psycast paths?" I believe that Ars Mythica - Skyrunners is technically feature complete in the Psycasts Path department, Skyrunners have their antithesis which are the Authority users. I do still want to add things to do with Psylight spheres, making them more and more usable for other things. I was thinking about adding clothing based off of Stormlight Archive but I think I can just make another mod for that as to not gatekeep clothing to Vanilla Psycasts Expanded. Now there is one more thing I want to add... this might take some time, but Summon-able Shardblades will be the finale of abilities added for this mod.

- "Why is there such a high amount of Heat needed for a lot of the abilities in the Authority psycasts tree?" Well, the Authority psycast tree is something meant for stronger psycasters, while I'm the biggest advocate for overpowered and unbalanced magic, I do prefer that to control forces of nature the psycaster must be a strong psycaster, hence why it's best you focus on upgrading their stats.

- "What is Ars Mythica?" Ars Mythica is the new naming convention for all my mods that share in some capacity a theme that I am following, that theme being more fantasy, magical, and mysterious.

- "Why is the Steam mod name different to the actual name of the mod in my game?" I want to make sure that people can still find Ars Mythica - Skyrunner by searching "Psycasts" on the steam workshop, so I added "Psycasts Expansion" to the Steam title, the mod itself is still just called "Ars Mythica - Skyrunner.

- "My Authority Psycaster was erased from existence because of the range on the Erasure abilities! is that right??" Erasure is a horribly destructive power. It has requires incredible heat and will destroy anything. Yes, you can Erase your own pawns, it's intended, that is why Authority was a Psycast tree is only available to Imperial Inquisitors in my headcanon. It's a power that needs concentration and control.

- Combat Extended? No idea. Never used it.

Neat! Wish I knew about this before 1.6. I like your adaption keeping things simple to fit into the game. Looking forward to the update.

For my own Stormlight mod I planned to do VPE paths just like you did. Now I might just make a Truthshaper path or something.

My mod currently has mostly production chains for random stuff like hion and power, crem, gemhearts, simple fabrials, etc. Starting on adapting hemolurgy using Anomaly systems and planning out Parshendi. That's enough for one mod, I think. Getting really sick of looking at hion glowing magenta and cyan everywhere, lol.

Honestly this is why the comment section needs a 'Pinned' feature so the Author's comment doesn't get lost if it answers 'Update plz' questions.

The coder who I commissioned for the mod's code is working on it as far as I know, I will check with them again in a few days as they are very busy.

I already updated the abilities that didn't have custom c# code already, so now I am just waiting on the abilities that do have custom code.

I want this mod updated as much as you guys since I play with it in all my rimworld saves.

Please be patient, this mod will eventually updated and will not be abandoned.
