Description
The E751 Series (E751系) is an EMU operated by JR East on Limited Express services.

Built for the harsh cold of the Tōhoku Region, the E751 series is constructed with double skin aluminium body and enhanced weather resistance. The type is designed with the concept of "The Four Seasons of Tōhoku" while the interior is meant to evoke "Nature's Scenic Beauty". 18 cars in 3 6-car sets were produced. The E751 trains operated on Limited Express Hatsukari from Morioka to Aomori/Hakodate from it's introduction in 2000 until 2002, when the Tōhoku Shinkansen was extended to Hachinohe. It was then reassigned to Limited Express Tsugaru from Hachinohe to Aomori/Hirosaki until the Shinkansen reached Aomori in 2010. After shortening to 4 cars, the E751 series now operate between Aomori and Akita on the Ōu Main Line, keeping the name "Tsugaru".
