Description
BIG CARRIER SHIPS FOR THE HEROES - ESG Mod 1.5 compatible


With this mod, the heroes of the major factions uses the carrier ships instead of the white/red nutshells.
The heroes of the minor factions receive the carrier ship designs of the VODYANI.

The other QUEST heroes:
Sophons Mavro hero Krak "Cubed" Bleis uses a Sophons carrier ship class.

Horatio hero "Five" uses a Horatio carrier ship.

Endless hero "Reyaryn Cious" uses a Cravers carrier ship.

Endless hero "Tiaych Zhilleaq" uses a Vodyani carrier ship.

Rhync Raggiodri, a.k.a. The Photobomber uses an improved version of the classic Drop hero ship class.

Fluffpetal Gurk'Zvar uses the BLOODY HELLHOUND, a very deadly armed ORTAAM carrier class ship.
Be warned when hunting the Pirate Leader and be prepared for a tough fight with his very large and fast rogue fleet!

The Survivor (ESG Mod Vodyani hero) uses a Vodyani carrier ship.


The Academy Quest

The Vodyani extremist fleets pose a great danger and threaten to destroy the Academy!
A real challenge for all empires ...


NOTE
Remember that the heroes of the opposing empires (human/AI) also use these ship designs!


COMPATIBILITY
Compatible with ESG Mod v1.5.
Since this mod alters the files HeroDefinitions.xml and BattleActionDefinitions.xml, it will come to conflict with mods, which also change these files!

Put the FACTION HEROES SHIPS mod LAST in the loading order to ensure that the correct game mechanics changes are made.


IMPORTANT
This mod changes the ship types ONLY of the HEROES of the game (and DLCs) and NOT of the heroes of other modifications ...



Due to its structure, this mod should always be functional, even if it is not up to date.

@RomanGaming: Yes, you can change the ship textures. The "Black Heroes", "Golden Heroes" and other modifications by "Jaylo" in the workshop are good examples. You might be particularly interested in the "Black Vodyani" mod by "Jaylo". This mod changes the appearance of Vodyani ships. First, you should export the ship textures. You can do this in the game main menu under "Menu ---> Export Resources". You can see the next steps in "Jaylo's" mods.

Question: If I wanted to make the Vodyani Hero Carriers use the "Heretic" skins, how would I do that?

@Death Viper: This is not a bug. In terms of gameplay, hero ships are still the small, white-and-red nutshells piloted by the heroes alone. Even if they are massive battleships or carriers, as in this case, the pilot sits alone in the cockpit. Hero ships are a separate ship class in the game and are treated differently than the rest. As such, hero ships cannot transport troops and therefore cannot lauch or conduct planet invasions. ;-)

Noticed that the carriers have 450 manpower for ground assaults that never fills. Even if I put a fleet with them the fleet will be short 450.

Love this mod, it never made sense to me that heroes are off on their own with a tiny one person ship... then leading fleets of carriers. It'd be impossible to do but upgrading them as you get bigger ship designs would be absolutely peak.
That being said, just a bug I've noticed while playing with ESG, as well as a few questions;
1) While Krak "Cubed" Bleis does use a Sophon ship, unlike the other Sophon ships it doesn't have the Quadrinix slots available
2) Fusha Keencrest uses a minor faction ship, is it possible to get him in a Hissho ship? I can understand if you're not wanting to lock those without the Supremacy expansion though.
3) Same thing for Op Bot DV8, is it possible to get them in a Vaulter ship? This one felt the strangest, they are a Vaulter hero (though the game says they're a technologist) and they're added via the same DLC, it doesn't feel as though anyone would be locked out by that change.

Same issue as Shield of Ultramar below. Specifically it's all United Empire heroes. Every single one. They have their default equipment on them, thankfully, but you can't actually see it at all or modify it in any way. In my case (currently playing as the Vaulters), it doesn't matter if it's a duplicate hero or not. Neither can be modified. What's more, I picked up duplicates of a few heroes from other factions (major and otherwise) and had no issue with either the original heros or the duplicates.

Absolutely love the mod and have been using it for a multiplayer play through with some friends!

However, I think we discovered a bug. Some of the Heroes's ships aren't able to be customized, and the ship mod screen bugs out when you attempt to. The module slots are missing and trying to drag anything from the modules bar leaves it on your screen, even after closing out of the menu, only disappearing after clicking off the fleet they're in.

We have at least one lead on it though, and that's duplicate heroes. I've had it happen to three heroes thus far, and all three are ones that other factions acquired before me. One example is Kinete Muldaur. My friend (Playing as Vaulters) got her pretty early in the game, and later I (Playing UE) got a duplicate of her off the Marketplace. He is still able to modify her UE carrier, but I am unable to. This also happened to a Vodyani and Craver hero I acquired.
