Description
A Real Sonar Add-On
You love real sonar, but the sonar doesn't look real enough and you could use some more eye candy? This overhaul may just be the thing for you.
It's a simple texture replacement for captains and navigators to enjoy.

No Real Sonar? No Problem!
In case you're not playing with Real Sonar for whatever reasons, you can still enjoy this UI overhaul by installing the Immersive Sonar UI - Vanilla Sonar Edition instead.

Optional Bonus Feature:
If you have client-side lua installed, a text display will appear in the power bar when operating a turret, showing you at which degree you're currently aiming. This might be very helpful for gunners when the captain does degree callouts.

Load Order:
- Immersive Sonar UI - A Real Sonar Add-On
- Real Sonar

Patches:
- Any EK mod compatibility

Credits:
Evil Factory - contributed the aim degree text display.
orthos - Gave the incentive and early feedback to make this mod.

Is there a separate mod to add just aiming degrees at turrets' power bar? The sonar is cool but due to its coloration daltonists like me cannot really use it effectively. However, degree display is a game changer!

@Moondog!, I really like the turret degrees and the overall design of the sonar- I just wish it was a little transparent like vanilla.
Me too! It feels to bright especially the borders/circumference of the sonar.
Author can you make it a less brighter or give us this option? Thanks!

Hi! On my 21:9 monitor, the black text indicating the aiming angle is shifted to the left and is outside the gun status bar. It merges with the background of the game and the pointer becomes inaccessible to me.:captainsinful:

@Born Of Birch: Thank you! :)

@sylvexite: Currently the quickest and only solution is to play in 16:9 format. I'll ask Evil Factory if he can rewrite the code to adjust to wider screen resolution.
spooky zoey !! 12 Jan @ 6:09pm
also having the issue where the angle readout is unusable on wider displays. is there a way the text could be moved or changed to a different color? if not, please consider implementing some customization options if it's possible :>

pic for reference. you can *barely* see the text to the left of charge, but it's way too dark to be usable. 2560x1080; 21:9; borderless fullscreen

@Super Space Man: Sorry for the late response, but it is working fine on my end so it might be a mod conflict you're experiencing. Could potentially be fixed by adjusting your load order.

@MrBramwell: Perhaps one of your other mods higher in the load order also makes adjustments to navigation terminals and thus overrides this mod's textures. You can check what mod currently affects the sonar by going into the sub-editor and hovering your mouse over the item in the menu. The tooltip should show the mod affecting the item in purple below its description.

I'm using this and real sonar... but i only see the gun aiming degrees, not the sonar ui.. Load order is as described, this above real sonar... What could the issue be?
Only errors I see in the console are Sound load errors, but that shouldn't really mess with the UI for the navigation terminal should it ?

@Gojira54, @FatherSarge: I sadly don't have a screen setup that would allow me to configure such a resolution and thus I can't really adjust the UI to it.

As for the periscope compatibility, I'll try and adjust the mod so it checks for the periscope tag rather than periscope item so it would become compatible with any custom periscope mod.
