Introduction to R&D History：
The 'DongFeng' 4C heavy-duty multiple unit diesel locomotive is a conceptual concept proposed by Mr. Han Baoren from the Design Department of Ziyang Locomotive Works in 1997 in his paper 'Analysis and Explanation of the Selection of Diesel Locomotives for Heavy Duty Trains - Analysis and Explanation of the 2×'DongFeng' 4C Locomotive.' The discussion that can determine the appearance of this conceptual locomotive is as follows: 2×'DongFeng' 4C locomotive is a modified version of the 'DongFeng' 4C locomotive, which fixes two 'DongFeng' 4C locomotives together, As for a single locomotive, there is almost no difference in the layout of each system and the main units used compared to the original 'DongFeng' 4C locomotive. Overall, the following changes have been made to adapt to the fixed coupling:
① The original II end driver's cab has been cancelled, and an auxiliary room has been installed in situ without a restroom or tool cabinet.
② Two locomotives are fixed and reconnected at the rear end of the auxiliary room, forming a fixed train group.
③~④The two ends of the train group are still in the driver's cab, and can be operated synchronously from any control panel in the driver's cab For the convenience of drivers to patrol between two locomotives, a passage platform and a wind deflector are installed at the tail of the coupling end According to user requirements, the driver's cab is equipped with an air conditioning device.
⑤ To meet the requirements of 5000t heavy-duty traction, large capacity and high-strength couplers and buffers should be replaced.
⑥ Each locomotive is still equipped with headlights, marker lights, and obstacle catchers at the rear, and the two locomotives can still operate independently after being dismantled.
