General sources of information if you get stuck
By The Chronicler of Jiredh
This is intended to help people who run into problems they aren't finding easy answers for, because it is sometimes hard to get someone to stop and give an answer which is helpful. I'm hoping to alleviate some of that problem. (And if anyone else has tips to add, let me know, and I'll drop them in here).

Helpful links
Not all of the information you're going to need for the some of the issues in game are to be found here, but these should be the most useful sources to be found elsewhere on the net:

https://www.neoseeker.com/dragon-quest-builders/faqs/2585108-plat.html this link is to a walkthrough which gives you most of the basic information, though you can disregard discussions of timing and avoiding resting and chimaera wings, as our version of the game does not have an achievement for doing each chapter within a certain time period. It still provides lots of helpful information regarding how to do things, and where to go for something. It also helps you to know if you will miss something, or ruin an achievement (like the spectacular spa one) by destroying certain objects.

https://dragon-quest.org/wiki/Dragon_Quest_Builders This wiki, while it has some lacks (most notably no information on recipes needed for various craft stations), has most information that you will need on where things are, how to make, them, etc. It has stats on what room descriptions and what they give you, and information on how much a certain furnishing will help your base status. It's also got maps of all of the major areas, if you happen to get lost.
General bits and pieces that aren't in the guides
A few odd bits of information never appeared in the guide, and, in no particular order, I'll try to list some of the things I'd discovered which are helpful.

Seeds of Life are far more useful if held in reserve for big fights than I had initially realized. As anytime you use a seed of life, not only are you giving yourself more maximum hit points, at the time which the seeds are used, they bring you up to full hit points, which, in turn, may save your life, such as when you don't have time to down more than one healing cream or medicinal herb. So, if possible, save them up until near the last battle (though using them as necessary in difficult situations), rather than just use them when you find them.

Chapter three blueprints. I had been initially confused about where and how to place two blueprints which are rather useful if placed right. The earlier one is a battery of cannons. The best position for these is just past the central area with the flag, on the west side. Make sure it is closer to the center area than the lower area in blue (I think i remember it as blue) flagstone, then, when doing the blueprint much later which has pistons and pressure plates, put that blueprint in the indentation mentioned, with the buttons facing the outside edge, rather than the inside one. If you are having trouble getting the pistons down, you need to set them so that their 'active face' (the one that moves when triggered) needs to face the pressure plates that trigger them. Once I realized that, it made that portion so much easier.

Terra Incognita:
Something several of us have run into in Terra Incognita is that, for a room to register as having been made on that 'island', you need to make the room (all walls, door and the light), then add decorations, else it does not register as having been created. Also, due to the fact that the colossal coffer is not listed as the colossal coffer in this section, but an armoire instead, the treasury room does not work properly in this island.

Back to Chapter 3, I had a little bit of an issue noting what key to use to boost my speed with my bashmobile. If you're using keyboard/mouse, the boost key is not your normal sprint key, but rather the right mouse button.

Terra Incognita: Once you get your flying carpet (which I would suggest early if possible, because it's so useful), shift and move the middle mouse wheel up or down to adjust your height.

Also here, it's well worth it to craft yourself a pixel ring right away, usually possible after dealing with the monsters in the center part of that starting area, where you get to befriend your sabrecub.

Basic spreadsheet with blocks, blueprints and more
I finished making my basic spreadsheet, which might help you know where to look for something if you're missing it. But, if there are additional questions, let me know.
