Hainan Airlines Holding Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hainan Airlines") was established in January 1993, starting from Hainan Province, the largest economic special zone and free trade port in China. Hainan Airlines, as the first and only SKYTRAX five-star airline in mainland China, has been awarded the title of "SKYTRAX Five Star Airlines" for its high-quality service and products. This is the twelfth time Hainan Airlines has been awarded this honor since 2011. This honor represents the highest level of recognition for Hainan Airlines' outstanding service and also represents the praise of Hainan Airlines for its high-quality service quality by the vast number of passengers.

On December 8, 2021, the actual control of the operation and management of HNA Aviation's main business leading enterprise was officially transferred to the strategic investor Liaoning Fangda Group.
