Cutscene Areas (OOB)
By StackzGaming
Normally, when you're trying to travel across to other lands by building brick bridges, you'll get the force blocking you from doing so.

Of course, I'm not like most gamers.

Turns out the game uses a fairly contiguous (as in, it's all one piece) map. And you CAN travel to other land across the ocean if you know how.

SO while I was trying to do a basic trip from Galenholm to Alefgard (which is normally impossible), imagine my surprise to see that the same room you find in Dragon Warrior 1 is also out in the middle of nowhere, dragon and all. This is from the dream sequence cutscene that plays - obviously a different camera angle, but nice to see regardless.

Now, you can't interact with either the dragon or the Princess Gwaelin...I just thought it was really cool seeing it out here in the middle of nowhere.

Have to go back to Cantlin and Rimuldar to see if I can find those dream sequence areas, then I'll update.

"But thou must!" - Kol/Galenholm

Seeing this reminds me that there's a cutscene - so these assets are likely used for those dream sequences.

...nay, I shan't reveal the method by which thee may traverse this forbidden place. It is enough that it be displayed to thee in such a form.
Puff-puff? - Kol/Galenholm
I found the place advertising puff-puff. This is a real build - you can even sleep in the "inn" that's seen in the back in the cutscene (you have to lay down bedding and lighting but it DOES recognize as a room).

In my fancy car - Kol/Galenholm

Remember this? Where you fight the boss in Kol? It's out there too, fully rendered and available. So you're essentially "warped" to this location to do the fight.
Cantlin Town Before The Disaster

Here's the cutscene area from in front of the weapon shop as "You" are about to leave to fight the Dragonlord. Again, fully rendered, although it's not recognized as a shop (you can complete it if you want).

Cutscene area from when the two people are talking out front and the other person is talking to the grave.

Rimuldar Scenes

This looks like Galenholm but I seem to recall finding this in Rimuldar's chapter. If someone plays through and corrects me, I'll move the scene. For now I'll put it here. This is when the hero is setting off and buys items for the journey.

Again, fairly certain this is Rimuldar - correct me if I'm wrong. This is where Rubiss is talking to the hero that was.
Tantegel Scenes (SPOILERS!!!)

Ending of the game where they're building out Tantegel Town. DO NOT try to use the bench, you'll freeze (carpenter's workbench which wasn't programmed in)

This is a perfect replica of the first area of Cantlin when you wake up. The reason it's in Tantegel is, if you accept the Dragonlord's offer, you'll end up here (which is a callback to why you were there in the first place).

Rear shot of the rebuilding of Tantegel Town. This has a complete area including mountain range, trees, the whole nine yards.

As with Kol the final stage takes place in a completely different place - a perfect replica of the Dragonlord's Castle as well as the entire mountain range around it. It even has an entrance (but the Dragonlord's den is not actually built out inside, it's just a wall. Everything else is identical).

I believe this cutscene is from when you first get to Tantegel, when the Princess is about to turn herself to stone. Part of the castle is fully replicated for this cutscene; not sure why there are dirt blocks.

Interesting. At some point when I get bored I may take another trip through history.

Sapphire645 managed to port the chunks from DQB 1 to 2. Chapter 1 has Six cutscene areas.
Chapter 2 has Five. Chapter 3 has Five. Chapter 4 has Eight. Terra has None.

The very last picture I found this off shore from Cantlin. There is also a box area containing a dragonlord. There is the cantlin town before the disaster areas and a spot found with the golem standing on it. They are in the North direction then search east west. Easiest to find them from where the brownie teaches you the gravestone recipe.

These aren't the cutscenes - these are the renderings that are used to do the cutscenes. They're actual locations in the game that are normally unreachable (but I'm not like other gamers. I don't like boundaries). More fun to explore. That was the best part of Horizon Zero Dawn, was going to Sobeck's ranch.

The various areas are at least partially duplicated in Terra Incognita; so in theory these might be there too. Which means I might be able to get a Builder Card created (in theory). Might circle back to it after clearing the Arise DLC.

The easiest one to get to (opinion) are the Tantegel ones once you mentally picture the land layout. Heading in the direction of the ocean from the other side of the teleportal should run you right into those.

The other one that I would consider easy to get to is the hammerhood that teaches you how to make grave markers, out on the peninsula. Should be Rimuldar - can't immediately remember compass direction, but you can almost never go wrong heading east or west from whatever.

Thanks for the share! I was looking for a way to get to the dream areas for my 'proper restoration' run on my last play through. Saving this post for later. Interestingly enough I didn't get the Princess cutscene.

Magic carpet does not work outside incognita. I tried.
