Description
The 8000 Series (8000形) is an EMU operated by Odakyu Electric Railway on commuter services in Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture.
Designed as a general purpose commuter train, the 8000 series have served Odakyu lines since 1982. The type primarily operates as a coupled 6+4 formation, with separate runs less frequent. 160 total cars were produced as 16 6-car sets and 16 4-car sets. Some of the earlier 6 car sets uses chopper control instead of VVVF control of later manufactured cars, with the former sets now retired. 148 cars remain in service as of Feb 2024, with retirements continuing at a slow pace. Some cars will also be transferred to Seibu Railway starting from 2024.

The following formations are included:

4 Car

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 1224
In Service: 1982-

6 Car

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 1872
In Service: 1982-
A 6-car chopper control version is included, it has different acceleration, weight, and power output values.

6+4 Car

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 3096
In Service: 1982-

Maximum design speeds are used, operational speeds are 100km/h on Odakyu Lines. Capacity is calculated using 200% crush, which is a common occurrence on commuter lines in Greater Tokyo.

Hey there,

I currently have no plans to make historical rolling stock as there are still so many in-service types missing for Japan. My apologies!

Interesting.

Could you do the 9000 Series please? It'd be nice to also have the Roca Line's Toshibas' cousins
