Changing scale of the ship breaks saucer turrets!
  • 1:1 scale.
  • 6 SIze 2 turrets hidden inside the saucer keeping clean authentic outside look of Phaser strips, Last 2 images show how to place turrets inside the saucer
  • 0,5 size turrets: 4 on the saucer sides, 3 at the bottom of the drive section, 4 at the back and 1 at each pylon
  • 4 forward 2 backward torpedo launchers
  • Handar bay in the Saucer and Drive section
  • 2 Handar bays hidden behind doors at the back of the neck are too small for fighter to return in this scale but contribute to hangar size on the full ship

Hello! I am new to the game still just experimenting but can not waiiit to have enough to build this ship. Im wondering that scaffolding do i replace it, or does it stay there?

This is positively gorgeous. I applaud the attempt to stick to the original model and its scale while making it a serviceable Avorion vessel. I wouldn't worry too much about making it seamlessly increase in size for end-game or fret about the turret mounts. Trek ships are a hard fit for the Avorion-verse.

Only stretch goal I'd suggest from here is a detachable captain's yacht. That'd just be the cherry on top of a fun build.

the desigh of the turrets cannot be changed, adding more surface mounts to the phaser strip is possible but theyll be really small like the rest of them and there wont be many of them anyway.
i can provide the saucer turret desighns (every one is different so 6 of them) but they probalby wouldnt scale properly anyway

I found I can extend them to fix it, but it's a huge pain just because they are really difficult to see in the finished product. Thing is... I need 10 a working 10 slot ship. Got anything that is 10 slots, with more turret mounts (Never enough mounts and of unusually large sizes, some of the extension have turrets that are 9 slots and Ginormous) that flies amazing... maybe better (De)Accel that is build out through Xanion?

Please keep up the amazing work, I eventually plan to make some builds too... and I will be disassembling your design for this one to see all the cool tricks and techniques on making awesome ships for Avorion.

@Dodg, Thanks so much for the quick response. I was mounting them the same way, I couldn't see in the video really well, but I think where the issue comes in... I scaled the ship to 9 slots, so seems the little periscope turret deal-eos you use don't scale with the rest of everything and end up being underneath and thus cannot fire. I'm guessing @Mullroy234 perhaps did the same. So that is mostly on us. It might be an issue of just having them closer to the surface to start so the scaling by 2 slots +/- doesn't create an issue... or something note in the design that it has issues with them if scaled.

@sspar1 Hi! thanks for the feedback. Heres video of me testing the saucer turrets and atleast for me theyre working fine. can you make sure youre doing in the same way thanks.

First love everything about this ship, except... the below issues.

@saber, @Shady - I can help on placement, as mentioned in the text use the last image... However, I still had to scroll until I was inside the outer part of the model and some of them are upside down in there, so you have to look at them from underneath.

This said, I can confirm that as @Mullrooy234 said... the internal turrets do not fire... so, that severely is hampering the idea of using this design. @Dodg can you either put this external and just use a cool turret design like you did with the others... or tell us how to make that work without tearing off parts of the model to expose the guns?

i cant seem to attach weapons to the saucer section of the ship on the edge turret bases, am i missing how that is suppose to work?

My weapons in the saucer, on large edge mounts, are not firing. The rest work just fine though.

Can't seem to put the turret on. It keeps saying the turret must not intersect. Any idea how to fix this?
