Description
About
AmbientRim adds several new ambient sound effects to objects on the Rim.
  • Rivers
  • Coasts
  • Campfire/Brazier
  • Trees: Birds, Night Owls
  • Beaches: Seagulls
  • Corpses: Buzzing flies
  • Grass: Cicadas


Customization
All added sound effects can be turned on / off, and the volume adjusted in the mod options.
Sound range change option affects how much camera zoom is needed to hear


Known Issues
Several users have reported Player.log spam which may be caused by the mod adding a lot of new audio sources + having a heavy mod list. If you get this issue, one workaround is making Player.log read only. The file is at:
C:\Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios

For me, disabling birds' songs in mod settings completely solved the problem.

Holy, this is the reason the music is stuttering/repeating sometimes? Here I thought it was a 1.6 issue the entire time.

oh god, forgot to mention the birds. The bird ambience is the worst offender, and causes the most skips.

Just to give more details; when a pawn is doing something that makes a sound (like chopping a tree or mining) the music skips for a moment and restarts. This happens every few seconds and makes the mod unusable, even when this is the only enabled mod.

This has been a staple in my mod order for over a year now, it would be tragic if this is what made me stop using it. It's a fantastic mod otherwise.

Ahh so the music restarting and freezing is from this mod! Took me ages to figure it out... No errors show up whatsoever.

Music stutters and resets whenever im stonecuting lol. Shame, I otherwise LOVE this mod. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Also having music issue with it restarting, disabling this mod fixes that issue.
