Description
The 9000 Series (9000系) is an EMU operated by Tokyo Metro on the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line.
Initially produced as 4 car sets ahead of the Namboku Line's opening in 1991, the 9000 series was designed with the concept of "harmony and kindness". The series was extended to 6 cars upon the extension of the line in 1995, and went through several batches of production with minor design differences. Starting from 2022, extensive refurbishment and further lengthening to 8 cars begun taking place, with the series planned to be in service for another ~20 years. A total of 140 cars had been built, with an additional 24 cars on order. The type is through-operated on the Tokyu Meguro Line, Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line, and Saitama Rapid Railway Line.

The following formations are in included:

1st Batch (4 Car)

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 1166
In Service: 1991-1995

2nd-4th Batch (6 Car):

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 1764
In Service: 1995-

5th Batch (6 Car):

Max Speed: 110km/h
Max Pax: 1764
In Service: 2009-

2nd-4th Batch (8 Car)

Max Speed: 110km/h

Capacity is calculated using 200% crush as the Namboku Line frequently reaches 200% (and above) during rush hour.
Maximum design speed is used, operational speeds are 80km/h on the Namboku Line and Saitama Rapid Line, and 110km/h on the Tokyu Lines.
