Description
Reimagining and refactoring the excellent 'United Earth Confederacy' mod by Comrade Nucleartwister6.

What his mod does: It introduces a dedicated tech sub-tree for the USA, sequentially granting full claims on any part of the world. For example, if you research 'Unify Oceania,' your USA gains claims on all Oceanian provinces. While it's technically possible to research the tech, flip the relevant countries to your control, federate, and unify, you could also just rival everything you've claimed and roll out the tanks. Since you have claims on all their provinces, military conquest becomes an option. To me, his mod feels like an American conquest of the world – a straightforward playstyle that I imagine many Americans in the audience would enjoy. I did; all snark to the contrary, his is an excellent mod and I recommend it.

However, I see a couple of issues with this approach. First, it renders preexisting unification technologies obsolete. If you're America, why bother with trying to control and unify anything else? Just conquer and absorb, repeat until done. Second, does this approach make us (US?) the bad guys? Third, I'm happy we can paint the map any color, as long as it's red, white, and blue with stars. But I realize some might prefer a different flag.

My mod takes a different tack: it creates a set of projects that follow specific Great Nations unification techs, each granting claims on the capitals of other Great Nations. For instance, "Greater United North America" tech leads into "Operation Everything Freedom" - a projects which grants America claims on, specifically, Addis Ababa (African Union), Ankara (United Turkestan), Bangkok (Southeast Asian Alliance), Beijing/Taipei (Pan-Asian Combine), La Paz (South African Union), Cairo (United Arab League), Jakarta (Greater Austronesia), Jeddha (Caliphate), Kuala Lumpuir (Greater Malaysia), London (Commonwealth), Moscow (Eurasian Union), New Delhi (Greater India), Paris (EU), Sydney (Republic of the Southern Cross), and Tel-Aviv*.
* Israel - great nation, but certainly not a Great Nation; I just dislike the lore implication of having to roll it into either United Arab League or (arguably worse) The Caliphate for world unification.

With only a capital claim, military conquest isn't an option. To control the world, you'd have to use preexisting Great Nations tech on your target, stabilize the resulting entity to prevent breakaway regions (remember, you don’t have claims on the constituent capitals which might elect to leave), and then employ diplomatic means to peacefully unite the world against the Ayys.

The end result is effectively the same, but I somewhat prefer my vision of the road to a United Empire of Earth.

Great Nations which have routes to world unification:
USA via "Greater United North America" -> "Operation Everything Freedom"
AU via "African Union" -> "Lion's Roar Heard Around the World"
SAU via "South American Union" -> "Andean Alliance"
Greater Austronesia via "Greater Austronesia" -> "Nusantara Network"
China via "Pan-Asian Cooperative" (claims go to both Beijing and Taipei for obvioius reasons) -> "Operation Red Harmony"
SAA via "Southeast Asian Alliance" -> "Siam Guardian"
EU via "Great Europa" -> "Old World Phoenix"
OTHER EU via "Forward Russia" -> "Red Earth Directive"
The Caliphate via "The House of Islam" -> "3000 Black Jets"
England via "Restored Commonwealth" -> "Rule, Britannia!"

All capstone unification technologies are classified as Social Science and priced at 50,000 points, which seems reasonable.

Fixed: France -> Paris. EU should be able to be "folded" into other Great Nations now.

WARNING! Unifying the world will lead to a horrendous decease in total IP worldwide. This is not something this mod does specifically, this is just a factor of the cube root relationship between GPD and C-IP that the developers implemented. To give you an example of impact, a Unified Earth with 9 bn people at $50,000 GDP per capita would have 73 IPs. Total. Worldwide. That SAME Earth split into 5 meganations, all else being equal, will have 43 IP per nation -> 215 worldwide. That SAME Earth split into 200 nations will have 12.7 IPs per nation -> 2554 worldwide. That said, this mod is designed to be used in conjunction with my Big Country Economy Rework (BCER) mod. It will work just fine without, but it will work better with.

The mod uses existing systems to add projects and claims and should be compatible with everything, including ongoing games. It hasn't been thoroughly tested, so bug reports and suggestions are welcome. I think I've fixed the obvious issues and removed duplicate claims from claim chains, but there might be oversights.

To install: Subscribe. Go into your Steam folder, ./steamapps/workshop/content/1176470/3147902897. Copy the whole folder into your ./Terra Invicta/Mods/Active directory. Rename the folder to "United Earth". In the game's main menu, go to Mods - Refresh, you should see it there. Alternatively just search for "United Earth" from within in-game mod menu.

It's only fascist if you make it fascist. Everyone plays the game differently. Remember peaceful diplomatic unification is a thing in this game. You don't have to steamroll every country with armies. I've seen worse out of Stellaris mods, arguably.

Nevermind, didn't see Pan-Asian Combine.

(for reference: I have a fully unified EU and Eurasia right now (sans their conflicting claims) minus Mongolia and am currently working to get Exec. control of Taiwan (have it for China already).

I'm trying this properly for the first time right now and I have a question.
I'm desperately trying to figure out how to integrate Japan into a global EU Nation but from my knowledge so far I don't know how that would work since EU doesn't get a claim on Tokyo?
I have very little experience with Asia aside from Russia so surely I'm missing something here...

What you can realistically do with this mod right now is use it to create even more mega nations than before as long as they stay within a certain area. If America takes india it's geographic distribution stat would be impossible to control. But if the Pan Asian combine did it would be fine. The geographic distribution stat is a tough one to deal with and if you wanted to make this mod possible that's the main issue you need to content with. It's calculated based off of how much of the population is separated from and how far away it is from the capitol. So like even the republic of the southern cross suffers from this when it takes parts of Indonesia due to how much pop is there compared Australia. It's also why the Eurasian union could never take India. Only China could take the hit due to it's population being comparable.

Specifically when it comes to the math you are allowed up to 16 points as freebies for cohesion calculations. these points get deducted due to population, geographic distribution of population, and inequality. My version of north and south america have deductions that go up to 15.9 out of the 16 I'm given. After being given a few points for democracy rating and public opinion I end up at 14.6 which gives me an end cohesion value of 2.16. This isn't enough to keep the country from revolting over time. If I really really try I could probably make this work with many years of effort but once again. What happens if I add even one more country? Oppression might make that work with a powerful military and a gdp per capita of like 70k plus but now we're starting to throw out unrealistically impossible numbers when you want to control the entire world. This is a fun idea but without other modifications you just can't do it.

it doesn't seem to be mathematically possible to actually unite the planet with how the systems currently work right without the country being at unrest constantly. Not to mention even if both countries who join will always have breakaways no matter what for whatever reason. I joined just north and south america and with a very low inequality score of 1.5. Yes it can get better but then again this is just north and south america. What happens with more countries?

I would like a separate mod if you could please. I have a different economy mod that includes a space rework that I really like
