Information about the hybrid engine:
Uses an automatic load-sensing diesel generator with two cylinders on the same crankshaft with different fuel & air inputs, one at high throttle, the other at low throttle.
When one cylinder goes over 100C it will switch the overheating cylinder to low and the cool cylinder to high to get more range before a catastrophic overheat.

This powers an array of starter motors, there are 2 sets of 2, and 1 set of 3, they're pulsed on and off rapidly to quiet them, they're divided into 4 groups and each group is turned off as you close in on your desired speed.
