I figured out a different way to do it with the SourceIO plugin and texture nodes. I'm really getting the hang of it. No need to convert anything!!

i converted the .vtf's into .tga or .png files with vtfedit

Did you manage to get textures to be viewable in Blender? I've been running blind for a bit and being able to view the textures whilst manipulating models would be a big help.

Where did you get the Half Life 2 Survivor models? I'd like to mess with them in Blender and see if I can get that same mandible model.
