Description


“Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workingmen of all countries unite!"

Simple mod that just makes the event option "The world will be free, one day" give 3 socialist unrest per month instead of only 0.5. As well as increasing the trigger requirement of this option to have a powerful and/or in-government socialist interest group, instead of only in-government

The "Oppressor and Oppressed" event triggers on socialism researched and starts 'The Spectre Haunting the World' journal, which determines if communist ideologies becomes popular in your country or not.

The problem that this mod addresses is that you often need to cheese the journal to spread the revolution. Causing radicals isn't a big deal, but if you did not plan in advance by decreasing your home affairs and police institutions, it can be quite awkward to get the socialist unrest needed within the 35 months.

+3 monthly socialist unrest will make it simpler for you to work toward the desired outcome of the journal, but it does not trivialise it, as seen in the banner image where 3 is still not enough due to institutions and loyalists.

Of course if you don't want to encourage communism, simply select the other event option.

Compatibility:
Overwrites event communism.10 - will be fine with 99.9% of mods.

So in order to pick the option that gives the +3, iirc you need to have a pro-council republic ig in government. The short time limit on the Spectre JE means that if it pops from spreading Anarchism before I've researched Socialism (thus making the TU support it be default), then I'm still forced to generate a bunch of radicals and drop Police and Internal Affairs in order to *maybe* be able to "fail" the JE. If it pops while the TU are marginalized it causes the same problem. Would it be possible to add another option to Oppressor and Oppressed that is always available?

vanilla victoria 3 movements are screwed, the bonuses for pops to start or join movements is not balanced. these bonuses are too weak for socialists communists and anarchists so pops rather join liberals workers and peseants movements.

just fyi because i read the question here in comments.
