After the Spanish Empire fell at the hands of a coalition comprising the Grand Duchy of North America, Portugal, and the French Republic, the global stage underwent a profound transformation. New nations emerged, while others succumbed to collapse. A mere decade after the Franco-German War, Europe found itself divided between Imperialist and Republican ideologies.

In the East, the Russian Empire experienced its final days as a series of political assassinations swept the nation, leading to a government collapse. Years later, during the coronation of Ivan The 1st, the world witnessed the birth of The Empire of Kievania, named after the other side of the Kievan Rus'. The once-mighty Russian Empire disbanded, leaving a void filled by this new geopolitical entity.

In Asia, the Qing Dynasty still stood strong, though the loss of Korea and minor Siberian lands left scars on the old giant. The Mongols gained unprecedented autonomy, sparking speculation about the possibility of full independence, especially with the weakness of the Russian Far East. The Mongol Empire, once fragmented, entertained the prospect of a reunion.

India became the battleground for its most devastating war yet, as the Maratha united the North and West. A standoff ensued with their colonial rival, the British East Indian Company, which controlled the South and East. The subcontinent witnessed a complex struggle for dominance, with the outcome undetermined.

Deep in the Atlantic, ancient asteroids crashing down on the edges of the African, North American, and South American Plates led to a series of land shifts and earthquakes. This geological upheaval eventually gave rise to the continent of Novaatlantica, forever altering the world.
