Description
Updated version of the Unique Firearm Progression mod, based off of the original, created by Aquasent55. The purpose of this mod, like the original, is to rebalance the weapons in game to add some uniqueness to each weapon, and give benefits on some guns to players with higher weaponry perks.

In the vanilla game, the majority of weapons have little to no variety. This mod aims to remedy this by making some weapons more accessible to lower levelled players, and some being more powerful when used by higher levelled characters.

In general, I've tried to seperate the pistols, shotguns and rifles into low, middle and high tiers of difficulty. Low-tiered guns would be easy to use for early levels, with mid-tiers becoming easier to use around reaching Aiming level 3-6, with high-tiered being at their best at level 7+. Here's a quick run down:

Pistols
  • The M36 revolver and M625 revolvers are considered low-tier, being easy to use but won't have much improvement.
  • The M9 and M1911 are mid-tier. The M9 has deals slightly less damage, but is much more accurate. Critical hit chance will improve with levelling. The M1911 is quite inaccurate for a lower level player but will improve in time
  • The Deagle and Magnum revolver are high tier. They deal more damage than vanilla, but are very inaccurate for lower levelled players. Can be very powerful for higher levels.

Rifles
  • The MSR700 is low-tier. It deals less damage and is less likely to crit than its counterparts but is very accurate.
  • The MSR788 and M14 are mid-tier. The MSR788 has extended range and increased damage over the M14, but the M14 will improve more over time than the former.
  • The M16 is high tier. For a new character it will likely be wildly inaccurate and struggle to crit, but will become a formidable weapon as the player increases Aiming.

Shotguns will be improved in future, but for now work the same as the original mod.

If you have any balance suggestions, feel free to leave a comment. The mod is also easily customisable if you aren't happy with any of the changes, it's as simple as changing some numbers in the lua files.

This mod should be compatible with any mod adding weapons, however the weapon values will remain vanilla unless they are specifically supported.

It's a rebalance of the current weapons in the game, to give more variety and make some guns easier to use with lower skills, and some better to use when you are higher. If you follow the link to original mod in the description, it gives a more in-depth answer about what it changes. We are currently looking into modifying some of the changes in the future though
