Description
Hammer's Slammers

Game Description:
A military sci-fi board wargame based on the classic novel by Dave Drake. "The Hovertank is amazingly silent for its fusion powered bulk. Even the hiss of the main laser turret would seem quiet to an ancient tank commander." Artillery, tanks, infantry, shells from the sky, etc. "Soon the enemy will know that Colonel Alois Hammer's Slammers have landed."

The map represents various battlefield and terrain the mercenaries fought over the latter half of the 3rd Millennium. It has the usual roads, forest, slopes, clear, lake, city, swamp, hill, river, bridge, fortress and rubble terrain. Hammer's Slammers is a basic hex-based wargame in the Panzerblitz tradition with CRT's, terrain modifiers, and fairly easy rules (7 pages of actual rules).

NOTES:
With the sad passing of one of my favourite military sci-fi authors (David Drake) recently, this marvellous boardgame from back in the day came to mind and I thought I would give it some TTS love. Please enjoy it as I did while reading David's awesome tales about Alois Hammer's mercenary Armoured Regiment in the far future. May he rest easy in Fiddler's Green.

Only 12 scenarios are currently in the game (Scenario 1 is on the table). The remainder (2) will be added shortly. Building the maps for the game is a labour intensive choir to be sure. Whoever thought mapboards made like puzzle pieces was a good idea needs to shake their head. :)

Note that some of the scenario maps were too large for the table so they were scaled down. Unit counters for those maps will need to be scaled down appropriately to play on them.

Mod Contents:
Hammers Slammers Rules PDF;
Hammers Slammers Scenario Booklet (1 Introductory Scenario, 1 solo, and 12 more);
2 full double sided sheets of Counters (Slammers, Mercenaries, Common Tan, Common Green, Admin Counters);
Multiple detailed reference charts, CRTs, and TECs;
Some background music and battle sounds; and
Dice rollers.

Enjoy gents. Still working on manually cleaning up the map fragments and finishing the other 10 scenario maps after that. First 4 will need another pass as well. Laborious work but very zen like...lol. You know the drill.

Excellent job, and an great excuse to finally read the series. I've had the books for a long time and put off reading them!
