During the early days of human colonization in 2150, the Stellar Guild formed as a breakaway faction from United Earth. To start off with, they were little more than a noise minority wanting independance for all off world colonies. Following the stealing of a colony ship, they set up a colony in the Proxima Centauri System. They became more violent attacking and murdering colonist who wouldn't join their independence movement, pirate attacks on ships travelling between colonies.
