Description
Megacat Engineering and Silly inc. presents the UM-27 "Mako", the Mako is a supermaneuverable submarine. The Mako is the second installment of my UM-XX submarine series, the first sub, the UM-13, can be downloaded off the workshop. I spent multiple 10 hour Stormworks grinding sessions to build this thing sooooooooo PLEASE GIVE IT A THUMBS UP :D (only if its worthy of course).

HOW TO OPERATE:
Systems: Operation is extremely easy, literally just turn the key labeled "Systems power" then all the controls will be operational. Everything else is self explanatory but i'll briefly explain a few of the important individual systems below.

Engine/generator: On the left hand side of the angled control panel there is four switches and a lockable button, flip all four switched labeled: "Engine fuel", "Engine air", "Engine coolant", and "Connect engine to generator". Then just press the lockable toggle button labeled "Generator start". IF THE BUTTON IS LOCKED you're underwater and have to surface to start the engine, combustion needs air to work.

Depth hold: Input your desired depth on the keypad to the left then press the "Depth hold" button above it. The system will take any number be it negative or positive and convert it into depth (in meters) below sea level. Leave blank for pariscope depth. Remember to double check that the sub wont crash into the sea floor by checking the "Depth from sea floor" dial.

Heading hold: This sub also has a heading hold, you can activated right next to the depth hold. It takes your current heading and locks it in place, you cant set it using a keypad. Its just a toggle button.

Refueling: There are two refueling ports both located at the bow, the left one fuels the left tank and the right one fuels the right tank. An external pump is required to pump fuel into the ship, also since the new gas update is so buggy you might have some magical compressed fluid in the tank which could mess up the buoyancy.

General information:
Batteries: Since the UM-27 is a submarine, there's a bunch of batteries to power the power hungry electric motor, all batteries are of medium size and located in the engine access hatch. The batteries are sectioned into main batteries and reserve batteries. In total there are 16 medium batteries, 6 of them being reserve and the other 10 being main.

Supermaneuverability mode: So this is pretty unique and honestly I haven't seen anyone else do anything like this before but once you turn on supermaneuverability mode, the submarine flies like a plane, yaw turns into roll and the propeller pivots. You can do some seriously cool hydrobatics with this. Wait hydrobatics? Is that even a word? Well it is now and its just aerobatics but in water, cool.

Electric motor: The sub is powered by one medium electric motor. When the throttle is locked its power output is reduced to allow for indefinite (generator powered) surface usage. It can be accessed by the sliding door in the main crew cabin.

Generator: The UM-27 has one V16 800hp diesel generator, the systems/engine maintenance hatch is located on top of the submarine right behind the fluid heat sinks. Only enter the the engine room when the sub is stationary and completely surfaced.

Radio: The radio can be used by the buttons and keypad to the right. Its pretty self explanatory (tell me if it doesn't work, I haven't been able to test it)

Weather: The sub isn't designed for stormy weather so avoid it if possible. The waves could wash over the generators air intake and lower its overall power output, however large waves could keep the engine from running.

Bilge pumps: There are automatic bilge pumps in the crew cabin and engine room so if you accidentally take on water, it will dissipate over time. It's not that fast but its fast enough to get the job done.

Maintenance: All systems are repairable; the batteries, diesel generator are located in the engine room which can be accessed on the top of the sub behind the heat sinks. The electric motor is located in behind the sliding hatch in the main crew compartment, and the microcontrollers are located inside the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ walls.

Ship storage: Just tie it up anywhere (this doesn't really matter that much). Sometimes if the sub is left in the water without being tied to a dock it can list to one side, however this is fine because once you get it moving it automatically corrects itself.

Stats:
Max speed (throttle locked): 15 knots surfaced, 20 knots submerged
Max speed (throttle unlocked): 25 knots surfaced, 40 knots submerged
Max depth: I don't know
Propulsion: 1 medium electric motor connected to one small propeller
Diesel generator: V16 ≈800hp
Fuel storage: ≈900 liters or 2 (ish) hours of full throttle runtime

Bugs:
Angled control panel: When you spawn it in, occasionally the angled control panel in front of the pilots seat doesn't rotate, I have no idea why this is but its kinda rare so if it happens to you just re spawn it.

Heading hold: Sometimes if your heading is set directly north, the sub might do a little circle. To fix this just turn it off and on and go a bit to the left or right of direct north.

I made all microcontrollers myself (which took wayyyyyyyy too long) except for the ZE modular engine controller, you can download it in the link below.

Also, this guy on the Stormworks discord (im not sure if I should put their name here or not) tried to help me fix the generator, their work didn't make it into the final version but he still helped and therefore deserves a spot in the credits section.
