I am actually looking into fixing babblers getting distracted and babblers getting stuck and not attacking things after throwing a pheromone ball.
I nearly never see babblers, "deadly" or otherwise, being used to attack people. They're fairly useful when attacking structures or used as a meat shield though, thanks to the "only takes 5 dmg from anything" attribute. A swarm of babblers can knock down a power node surprisingly fast... if they can actually hit it.
Under "deadly" I understand a whole different thing.
For example I made my babblers far more deadly, they can really kill enemies and become a serious threat in numbers.
