UFS Declaration starship concept

9 slot mid-game vessel. $7.8m, 38k iron, 129k trinium, and 551k xanion to construct.

This started as an attempt to give the Charter class cruiser a saucer update, but resulted in an entirely new ship. Inspired predominantly by the Shangrila and Vengeance class vessels, the Declaration prototype is a much leaner starship compared to the Charter - but with nearly the same stats.

Flight tests on a hardcore galaxy had this vessel solo-ing pirate encounters along the barrier. The weapon compliment was a trio of 3 slot lasers and 4 pdc cannons at a combined 2k om. She ran an exotic shield booster and an energy to shield converter offset by a generator output improvement module, raising her shield HP to 1.8M.

Much of the foe busting power came from the ship's torpedo compliment. I had a great deal of luck alternating between a salvo of two ion torpedoes, followed by a salvo of 2 nuclear torpedoes and 2 kinetic. Later I had the luck of acquiring enough sabot torpedoes to perform a 4 launcher, shield penetrating salvo, and that was enough to end just about anything without PDCs on the galactic side of the barrier.

I thought I'd be more disappointed in the rotational speeds, but the ship rolled and maneuvered well enough for the autopilot to keep continuous fire on moving targets.

I'll likely include an update to finish out the custom turret designs, but otherwise this ship seems good to go.

This vessel was more sculpted than planned. Now that I've go an idea of the right shapes and sizes, I'll likely release a more efficient ship of the line that's easier to part/spru out.
