Arrowhead Portitorem
Largest vessel in its family, the Portitorem ("carrier") was designed for a very niché role in the Arrowhead family. It's massive enough to engulf many outposts and it's not unheard of for sailors to heed the it on its journey thinking it's an outpost located in an odd place. At the mid-front of the ship there is a large enough hangar bay to house a full-size, fully equipped arrowhead-class vessel. However, the Portitorem typically comes with a stripped down vessel in its hangar called Grammaticus ("linear") which is designed for simple scouting or reasearch missions. The Portitorem was made to act as a mothership for the smaller vessels in the Arrowhead family when they are out on long distance missions; be it long winded patrols, deep research, or distant strike missions, the Portitorem is there to welcome its companion home any time.

Disclaimer:
There are some things still missing in this initial upload of the Portitorem but I have decided to finally publish the ship after quite a bit of public testing. It functions rather well and I want to finally see some fruit from my labour. You are also forewarned about performance issues! If you have a modest computer and you play offline you should not encounter too bad performance, however I noticed that when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan in multiplayer my frames typically tanks. This is especially true for me as a host. I also found out that Barotrauma has quite terrible optimisations for the AI and I have tried to optimise the waypoints to make it both easier for the bots to navigate and reduce the performance hit. Below is a mostly complete list of missing features from the ship (taken straight from the ships hidden todo-list):
  • Main battery does not stop charging when it's suppose to
  • Automatic Bilge Doors in Engineering
  • Rework bridge, ammo stowage, hangar airlock
  • Rework fabrication, security, brig (and maybe lounge)
  • Add condition meter in engineering
  • Completely rework the Arrowhead in hangar
  • Go through and clean up items in containers
  • Add remote control for hangar vessel

Arrowhead Grammaticus:
The arrowhead in the hangar is called the Grammaticus ("linear") and it is fully battery powered just like the ship it's based on (The Arrowhead Piké). It does have an incredibly inefficient nuclear reactor for when you run out of battery and just need to get it back into the hangar. I often found myself in the frustrating scenario where it was simply impossible to recover it after it ran out of juice. The Grammaticus is very barebones and as the missing features list says, it warrants a complete rework as it is more placeholder than finished. With that said it is fully operational and can both leave and return to the hangar.

Final words:
I don't know when I will get around to actually 100% complete the Portitorem as the ship has taken me between 1 to 2 years to get to where it is now with very dispersed play sessions. I will try to fix any critical issues with the ship whenever I get the time to do it but don't expect it to get quick updates. I don't actually "play" Barotrauma much. I just loaded up the game and tried it in the submarine editor. Nothing is wrong with the shuttle. Are you sure you're not running with any mods that are conflicting with the submarine?
