Description
This is a reupload of TruBluCaribou's xml mod (mostly for my own enjoyment). I'll take it down if asked. I can confirm it works with Vanilla Animals Expanded and Megafauna, but I haven't tested if it's up to date with anything else.



This mod completely overhauls the current leather system in the game, along with patching a dozen plus other animal mods. It introduces the following "new" leather types: sturdy leather (from animals like elephants and rhinos), thick pelt (from animals like bears and alphabeavers), longfur pelt (from cold weather animals like wolves and foxes), shorthair pelt (from warm weather animals like lions and camels), coarse fur (from small animals like rats and raccoons), soft fur (from most pets and wild animals like rabbits), and luxe fur (from rare small critters with valuable pelts).

The final list of leathers includes: Coarse fur, soft fur, luxe fur, heavy fur, light leather, plain leather, sturdy leather, shorthair pelt, longfur pelt, thick pelt, bird skin, lizard skin, human leather, and thrumbofur.

Thank you for the update. Could you integrate wool or make a mod for it. There are to many sorts of it, which differ not much from each other. Normal and fine wool would just do it.

@Limey Lassen Just tested it in dev mode, butchered the animals (Mastodon, Mink, Hippo, and Armadillo) and they generated the leathers no problem. Thanks for clearing that up for me!

@filipinogoku It's probably another mod referencing leather types that were patched out (like for trader inventories). Let me know if that's causing bugs besides just a red message at launch.

The new Odyssey animals have been integrated.

I guess I've adopted this, for now.

I updated my Optimized Wool mod as well, check it out.

Given that this is an XML mod, it'll probably work with 1.6, for anyone checking in.
I'll delete this comment with a "doesn't work" if it, in fact, does not work.

hey, in case you're interested in bug/incompatibilities reports (and might help other diagnostic problems otherwise):
VanillaExpanded.BaseGeneration : use bluefur explicitly a lot in the generated structures (bed stuff) and loot tables (the mod also seem to be using other deleted leathers but only this one throw an error message)

RooAndGloomy.DragonianRaceMod : use leather pig explicitly for faction clothing

@notbuddhanuff It isn't. Alpha Animals, Dinosauria and Star Wars Animals have their own separate compatibility mods. They might work in 1.4 but I haven't tested them.

Is this compatible with Alpha Animals? I see it on your excel sheet but it's not listed on your compatibilities
