Slay the Princess has a very non-linear narrative, so many of the achievements can be unlocked through different routes. I've only detailed one route per achievement, for simplicity's sake.

This guide is organized according to Chapter 2 starts. Basically, any achievement or route stemming from Chapter 2: Adversary will be in the Adversary route tab. Since there are multiple paths through the story this could be confusing, but if something isn't in the tab you expected, just Ctrl + F and search for it. I probably just took a different path than you did :)
Story Achievements
The Real Slay the Princess Starts Here
Bring Her a vessel. Return after meeting Her to unlock this achievement.



I Never Left Your Side
Bring Her a vessel. Wait with Her before returning to unlock this achievement.



The Body
Gaze at yourself in the mirror for the first time to unlock this achievement.



The Bloat
Gaze at yourself in the mirror for the second time to unlock this achievement.



The Decay
Gaze at yourself in the mirror for the third time to unlock this achievement.



The Remains
Gaze at yourself in the mirror for the fourth and final time to unlock this achievement.



Denial
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the first time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

Anger
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the second time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

Bargaining
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the third time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

Depression
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the fourth time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

Acceptance
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the fifth time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

Just as you were once nothing
Fail to bring a vessel to the Stranger for the sixth and final time to unlock this achievement. You can do this by experiencing any Chapter 1 you want (except the Stranger) and refusing to enter the cabin during Chapter 2.

I Don't Need Answers
Destroy the mirror without asking the Narrator any questions.



Death of the Author
Ask the Narrator questions until there is only one piece of him remaining to unlock this achievement.


The Long Quiet
Speak to the Narrator and discover who you are to unlock this achievement.



Through Conflict
Bring Her 5 Vessels. When She awakens, fight her before ultimately joining Her.



There are no endings
Bring Her 5 vessels. When She awakens, join Her.



Strange Beginnings
First, bring Her the Stranger, then bring Her 4 more vessels of any kind. When She awakens, fight Her. When given the opportunity, tell Her you don't want to join Her, nor do you want to slay Her to unlock this achievement.

And? What happens next?
Bring Her 5 Vessels. When She awakens, fight Her. When given the opportunity, tell Her you don't want to join Her, nor do you want to slay Her. Enter the basement without the knife and sit with Her. Leave with Her to unlock this achievement.

You’re on a path in the woods
Bring Her 5 Vessels. When She awakens, fight Her. When given the opportunity, tell Her you don't want to join Her, nor do you want to slay Her. Enter the basement with the knife and sit with Her. Agree to Her plan to unlock this achievement.

A new and unending dawn
Bring Her 5 Vessels. Each time you reach the mirror, reassure your Voices. When She awakens, slay Her, either immediately or in the cabin, to unlock this achievement.


A new and unending dawn, and everyone hates you
Bring Her 5 Vessels. Each time you reach the mirror, tell your Voices that they are going to die. When She awakens, slay Her, either immediately or in the cabin, to unlock this achievement.

Adversary Route


That which cannot die cannot die
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife and attack the Adversary. Keep pushing the knife into her arm. When she asks if you get it, choose any of the speaking options. Attack her again and ask what she means by "untethering". Tell her that she cannot die.



A Fierce Vessel
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife and attack the Adversary. Keep pushing the knife into her arm. When she asks if you get it, choose any of the speaking options. Attack her again and ask what she means by "untethering". Tell her that she cannot die.



That shouldn't have worked
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife and attack the Adversary. Keep pushing the knife once. Ask her what she's talking about. Tell her that she's jumping the gun. Slay her, make sure she's dead, and leave.



Strike me down...
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with or without the knife. Talk to the Adversary a lot. Refuse to fight her.



I didn't hear no bell
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife and repeatedly attack the adversary unarmed.



A Tunneling Vessel
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement and run from the Adversary.
  • Chapter 3 - Choices are irrelevant.



A Wide Open Field
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement and run from the Adversary.
  • Chapter 3 - Lure the Eye of the Needle outside and point out that she fell for your trap.



The blind leading the blind
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement with the knife. Talk to her on the way down, tell her there's no way you're going to kill her. Refuse to drop the knife and slay the Princess.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement and run from the Adversary.
  • Chapter 3 - Lure the Eye of the Needle outside and point out that she’s free.
Beast Route

A Feral Vessel
Bring the Beast to her to unlock this achievement.
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with or without the knife. Say that she's chained, so you're safe. Tell the Beast that she can leave.



Dissolving Will
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with or without the knife. Say that she's chained, so you're safe. Tell the Beast that she can leave.



Ahab
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Say that she's chained, so you're safe. Slay her.



Freeze
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with or without the knife. Stand still.



Opossum
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife. Move and chat until you can play dead.


A Wordless Vessel
Bring the Den to Her to unlock this achievement.
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Move and chat until you can defensively strike.
  • Chapter 3 - Enter the basement with or without the knife. Walk into the shadows.



Fight
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Move and ask her 2 questions. You should now be able to wait for her to strike and hit her back.
  • Chapter 3 - Enter the basement with the knife. Remain silent. Stay still and ready to fight.



You can't keep this up forever
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife. Move and chat until you can survive, then run for the stairs. Repeat this process several times.



Flight
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife. Do not tell her that you're here to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, attempt to slay the Princess, but give up.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife. Move and ask her 2 questions. You should now be able to survive. Repeat this process several times.
  • Chapter 3 - Enter the basement without the knife. Remain silent. Lure her out.
Damsel Route

A Loving Vessel
Bring the Damsel to Her to unlock this achievement.
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel.



Romantic Haze
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel.


An Idealized Vessel
Bring the Deconstructed Damsel to Her to unlock this achievement.
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel. Continue asking about her happiness.



And they Lived Happily Ever After
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement without the knife and rescue the Damsel. Continue asking about her happiness.



Ladykiller
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.

Burning Down the House
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and tell the Princess you want to save her. When the Narrator throws the knife, use it to free her.

No Exit

  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement with Nightmare, then slay her. Fall forever.
  • Chapter 3 - Free the Wraith.



The Exorcist III
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife but go back for it. Once the Princess is free, lock her inside.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Leave the basement with Nightmare, then slay her.

An Unwound Vessel
Bring the Fury to Her to unlock this achievement.

  • Chapter 3 - Reconcile with Thorn and leave together.



True Love's Kiss
  • Chapter 1 - Enter the basement without the knife and lie to the Princess. When the Narrator throws the knife, slay her.
  • Chapter 2 - Enter the basement with the knife. Give it to the Witch. Call her beautiful.
  • Chapter 3 - Reconcile with Thorn and free her, then kiss her.

Great guide!

"The blind leading the blind" is missing an important part in Chapter 3. You need to make sure you grab the knife.

If you run away without it then she will just yeet it into your back and kill you before you can lure her outside to get the dialogue options that gives the achievement.

@slayer_22 you can't be the one to kill yourself, you have to pretend you're getting the "good" ending, and THEN teh "Shifting Mound" will make you kill yourself

Anyone know how to get the "Past the Point of No Return" Achievement. I seriously don't know what i'm doing wrong

Great guide! It really helped me with achievement hunting.

The only thing I wanted to say is the instructions for "AHAB" are wrong/ incomplete. The quickest way to get it is in "Chapter 2" you should enter the cabin, take the blade, go downstairs and stand still so she eats you. Then dig with the steel claw, dig again, and then slay her. Saying she's chained doesn't do anything and just takes up a bit more time!
