Your Glitter World was beautiful... "was" being the key word.

All good things must come to an end, like the sun that you woke up to every morning and watched set every evening. Your sun was dying, and so you boarded a shuttle and joined 9 others in cryo-stasis, journeying the stars to find a new home. Like everyone else from your dying planet who were wealthy enough to escape, you took a hoard of wealth with you--enough to survival at least a year or two--to give you a chance to settle in.

Decades later in another distant solar system, your shuttle arrives at a suitable planet and ejects your pods to the surface below.

You awaken to unfamiliar sounds and smells, the dust in the air immediately irritating your sensitive nostrils; the light from the sun brighter than you are used to - or maybe its just the cryosickness.

You and your companions start unpacking your hoard of belongings, anxious to get settled in before nearby raiders investigate your presence - but nothing a choke point with traps won't solve :)
