Latest Update
  • Increased maximum barter offer weighting, so your offers will improve past where they could before.
  • Adjusted region trading to be easier, particularly during wars when your allies/vassals conquer a region you want and request from them by removing the penalty for requesting recently acquired regions. See more in change notes.

Description

Non-aggression pacts are the only relatively easy diplomatic treaties in the base game. To gain defensive or military alliances you seem to usually have to wait till mid-late game when you can afford to offer vast resources.

This doesn't make sense to me as I can have non-aggression pacts with same culture factions and multiple barters over many turns, including fighting common enemies, and they still don't want to ally! This annoyed me as some of the techs require alliances with factions.

This mod greatly increases the weighting of your barter offers. It doesn't crazily affect barter over time exchanges but you may notice something. This has no balancing, I haven't tested every faction vs every faction etc. This is a brute force way for me to better manage relationships in game and for role-play alliances/vassals etc.

It will still cost you a bit, but it is pretty much a cheat mod... so be aware.

Compatible with saves, and any mods that don't affect CAI diplomacy.

Let me know if you experience any issues/notice any faction->faction that it doesn't seem to apply to.

I would also love if you could transfer over to Pharaoh Dynasties :)

I second this question

Any chance this could be transferred to Total War Pharaoh Dynasties?

Dont see anyone complaining about AI behavior exploiting this as is typically the case with diplomacy cheats like these, lets give it a try.

Just wanted to say ty for this a huge fan of diplomacy and really enjoy making vassal, but when i found out you cant force vassalize and the AI is apparently more determined to die than survive this allowed me to vassalize them with reasonable payment. I plan on turning this on then back off after as to not be overly tempted to snatch the world lol.

Thanks for the info FishDogFoodShack, I'll look into it :) I barely vassal. I'll adjust the vassalisation willingness. I think thats due to your strength becoming overpowering compared to them by mid game.

I should be able to Thangbom. Next update will include both of your feedback

really appreciate the barter changes, though vassalizing seems a little overtuned, most factions by mid game have only had a -20 to -30 aversion to being vassalized, and can be flipped for as little as 200 gold.

I'd suggest altering their willingness to become vassals, and maybe touch up their willingness to secede afterward as well? Ive played about 3 campaigns and in each of them, sea people waves cause nearly all my vassals to secede when you get declared on by the wave.

Can you make confederation a bit easier as well?

Well that is scummy as all heck :steamsad: Ah well...thanks for making this mod by the way. Kind of odd how stingy Ancient Egypt is compared to Shogunate Japan in terms of diplomacy.

As to the trade agreements - I'm almost 100% sure they've removed it from the campaign so they can add it in some sort of economic DLC and charge us for it
