An armed and mentally unstable stowaway aboard your ship makes their way to the bridge and opens fire on the captain and bridge crew.

The captain and bridge crew are fatally injured in the attack, and in the chaos the ships heading is altered towards the planet you were surveying.

You and your colleagues awaken to the sound of alarms and the ship computer repeating over comms in an emotionless tone "Red Alert! Evacuate to escape pods immediately."

You barely make it to the escape pods before your vessel begins to break apart, tumbling wildly into the planet's oxygen-rich atmosphere.

Minutes later your drop pods land at your new home, if you dare call it that. While this planet's flora and fauna are alien to you now, they will become the key to your survival.

You feel a wind at your back; an unfamiliar smell finds its way into your nostrils. You waste no time unpacking the survival gear and rations from your escape pods...
