Punaisten ja valkoisten taistelu Suomessa 1918 (The Battle of the Reds and Whites in Finland in 1918) was published in 1918 for the Christmas market, after the Finnish Civil War which was fought between January and May that same year.

The game is of moderate complexity, and best played with two players, although the rules do state that each side may have more than one player if they wish to play cooperatively against the other team.

Each side begins with 6 "game tiles". Tiles are two-sided, with infantry on one side, and artillery on the other side (marked with black in the centre). It's up to the player to decide how many units of infantry and artillery to deploy, as each has its strengths and weaknesses. Troops always start the game from the same locations.
Dice rolls decide the amount of manpower in each game tile, so there's both a bit of luck and strategy involved in the setup.
Once the game begins, players will take turns throwing the dice, moving their troops and shooting the enemy. The objective of the game is to destroy all enemy troops, and special location rules can either help or hinder in attaining victory.

One game should take less than an hour to complete.

The rules are ambiguous at times, so it's up to the players to decide how to interpret them at times.

While this virtual version aims to match the original as closely as possible, a couple of changes have been made.
- The sizes of the components do not precisely match the originals. The game tiles are likely much smaller than the real ones, but players can resize components if they wish to do so.
- The original manuals contain an error regarding the markings for the special locations, which claims that the locations marked with a star are harmful to both the Whites and the Reds. This has been corrected in the English translation. Other than that, the translation aims to match the original as closely as possible. The English translation is based on text from both the Finnish and the Swedish rulebooks.
