To date we have been unable to analyze the weapon directly however damage pattern analysis of craft attacked by the Scorch matches the theoretical effects of a pulsed plasma weapon. Sightings of the craft first occurred on ████/██/██ after the battleship ███ Defender was struck by a pulse of blue energy coming from above, completely vaporizing its forward turret. Attack satellites scrambled to the Defender's location would later be able to sight the craft and force it to retreat. Analysis of the battle has shown that while packing a massive amount of firepower the Scorch has very few defenses both in terms of armor and active defenses meaning it can be easily killed by anything capable of hitting it. ████/██/01: Recon space craft ██████ has identified the primary production facility of the Scorch platforms in orbit of █████-17. At least 500 instances of the craft have been spotted to be near completion, Brigadier General [Redacted] has called for immediate preparation for an attack on the facility before they can be completed. ████/██/21: The fleet has been completed sooner than anticipated and has left port, all space assets have been put on standby, and recon craft ██████ has begun tracking the fleet's movements. ████/██/24: The fleet has begun a burn away from the solar system, current destination unknown. ████/██/02: Tracking of drive signatures by long-range telescopes has shown the various Scorch platforms have taken up defensive positions along the Oort cloud. The current state of emergency has been retracted however monitoring will continue.
