How use old Wizard101 accounts with Steam
By DΩVID
This guide was to be a more detailed version of my own made discussion in the Wizard101 Discussions page. It is to explain how to transfer your old wizard101 accounts to the steam launcher version. It is well known that the Steam launcher version, does not seem to allow accounts to log in if it was not from the Steam launcher itself.

So, this is a guide to explain much better with not just text. But pictures!

Hopefully this helps out many users.

#1: The Downloading
Before I start. I should mention all this source info came from years ago when I accidentally found out how to do this. I made a discussion post about it here. Which funnily enough, it got pinned so it's easily found for new players. Hence why I made this guide a few years later. (oops) Anyways back to the guide you came here for!

Ok, first things you need is the desktop version of the game. It can be found here[www.wizard101.com]

Click the "Download now!" and when downloaded, install it.

Simple process and once you've installed it you can proceed to the next step.
#2: The Copy and Paste
After the desktop version is done, you can now proceed to go to the installation location. The default location to find it is in your local C: Drive.

To find the right file, you need to show hidden folders. To access that [In windows 11] you go to "view" then to "show" and select "Hidden Items".

From that point on, you can now find "KingsIsle Entertainment" in the "ProgramData" folder.
The "ProgramData" folder is hidden. So that is why you need to see hidden folders. From there, click "ProgramData" and click the search bar. Type "Kings" and it should be there. "KingsIsle Entertainment" folder. Enter it.

Select everything inside the "KingsIsle Entertainment" folder. You can do it with the mouse or just press (CTRL and A) together then once you have it all selected. Copy everything. Or simply press (CTRL and C) together.

Go to your Steam installed Wizard101 folder. In your [SteamApps/ Common/ Wizard101].

Paste it inside the folder and the computer will ask if you want to replace files? You click yes.
#3: The Purge
Congratulations! You are able to play with your old accounts on the Steam launcher now. The reason I call this part "The Purge" is because now you have to delete the Desktop version of the game.

All you do is delete the "KingsIsle Entertainment" folder and you are done.

Take care and good luck! ~DΩVID

Will Comment again in the future if/when this stops working ( via game updates ect.) If i dont come back then it updates the game and works just fine with-ought having to re-do this every update.

I state this because even the Dev has stated its not meant to work like this and you may have to re-do these steps every time they have a big update.

As of right now the game is working and says im playing Wizards 101 on Steam It Also allowed me to sign in with no issues. +rep so far
