Class 142 Pack

The class 142 Pacer units were built between 1985 and 1987 using many parts from the Leyland National bus. Although originally intended as a stop-gap until better rolling stock was available, they managed to hang around until December of 2020 before being either scrapped or preserved. There are roughly 30 operational class 142s on preserved railways across the UK.

The class 142s were originally delivered to Newton Heath and Laira depots, with both receiving special liveries. The 14 assigned to Manchester were painted orange, whilst the 13 assigned to Laira were painted in chocolate and cream and referred to as skippers. The batches after this, also assigned to Newton Heath, were painted into Provincial livery and would run across the North West and North Wales.

Originally the class 142 had a Leyland TL11 engine coupled with a SCG 4 speed gearbox which was then replaced in the early 1990s with a Cummins LTA10-R that used a Voith T211r hydraulic transmission.
Due to a lack of references regarding the SCG gearbox (specifically the control systems), I have decided to model the Cummins Variant.

Included in this pack are 3 versions of the class 142:
* Provincial
* Regional Railways
* Chocolate and Cream "Skipper"

Top speed of 75mph
250 hp (500hp per set)
Tare mass of 25 tonnes (50 tonnes per set)
Torque converter moving to final drive ~44mph
Sounds recorded from 142061 on the Mid Norfolk Railway

Future:
In the future some more liveries are planned as well as the classic flange squeal (when the game supports it). If more references for the gearbox can be found, then I'll look at making a version with that engine and gearbox.
