Cage traps normally do not capture large beasts. It relies on a STUN capability in order to effectively trap. The code roughly works by not allowing Forgotten Beasts to get cage trapped because they can't get STUNned by the cage trap. However, the purpose the trap creates is that it uses a web-slinging capable creature in order to create webs that make these cage traps able to capture larger beasts.
So, there's two factors in which allows a webbed cage trap to work, Webbed, and small enough. Non-web slinging FB's are vulnerable to the webbed cage traps because they get stunned by the WEB capabilities. Smaller beasts are vulnerable to the cage trap because they get STUNned by the cage trap. Forgotten Beasts with web slinging capabilities, HOWEVER, are IMMUNE to webs, so they can't be captured by a webbed cage trap.
