The M-500 "Manta" is one of GSD's midline utility models optimised for heavy lift and haul.
A pair of oversized outboard Heliodyne D-9800 thrusters can boost the Manta beyond 300m/s and may be rotated 90 degrees to boost vertical flight when needed. The ships antigrav and manoeuvring thrusters are more than sufficient to land the craft in standard gravity ranges.

To aid with manoeuvring in atmosphere stock Manta ships come equipped with configurable stabiliser and control fins capable of cycling between modes for optimal atmosphere performance. These control vanes compliment the repulsors and thrusters, with a dual purpose as radiators while in space. The control surfaces are also calibrated to not interfere with the craft's landing profile as well as any optional claw arm and crane attachments also offered by GSD, however depending on tow configuration the aft fins may be lowered (4)

The rear of the craft is dominated by a heavy-duty maglock boom, studded with links for various umbilicals. Along with a standard linking module, GSD provides attachments for its vessels that expand their compatability. Manta models are commonly found in station reorientation, relay alignment, satellite deployment and similar roles.

This particular Manta is the "Moxie" A-28, flown as a surveyor and hauler. With a crew of 6, Moxie leverages her jump range between systems near the Kaspian Arm. Thanks to her excellent atmospheric handling, Moxie is often selected for planetfall missions. For defence, Moxie's robust shielding and 7 dual beam autocannons prove effective in warding away pirates long enough for the ship to escape.

4 Decks
Small vehicle hangar (15mx14mx4m) with crane, 4 maglocks
Cargo hold linked with hangar via blast door
Configurable control fins
De-ionizer masts
Belly utility arm and hatch (fitted with mining beams)
Dorsal claw arms configured for haul clamps
Maglock bed and umbillical hookup (tug)

Multivector engine pods
A deck's forward room (D1 Utility) is configured as a crew lounge, the shutters can be toggled from the cockpit and next to the window

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Sister to the Stingray and the Zeke

Most of the switches and buttons in the cockpit control something. Excited for planets so here's something to land

Pressing 4 will reconfigure the ship's control vanes into 4 different configurations that loop, the ship can be flown and landed in any mode. Currently, these are just cosmetic.

NOTE: If you enter the helm while the engines are rotated down (VTOL position), you won't be able to reach top speed. To undo: (from helm) Right-Click to rotate the engines in the desired direction, exit helm and re-enter

Robertson, this is a horrible opinion. The colours are amazing and look awesome. You should stop yapping so much

@dolan, do you follow a style guide, or have a preferred style/ artist that you source from? your work reminds me of aliens ship design from the 80s

Excellent work as always Dolan! The attention to detail is second to none and this is why I quite often feature your creations during my channel update videos.

The only constructive criticism I have, like with some of your Space Engineers creations, is regarding the unusual choice of clashing colours i.e. the bright neon greens, cyans and vibrant purples in the kinds of places where we would instead expect yellows, reds, tans and more muted hues, which strongly makes me suspect that you may be afflicted with the same red-green colour blindness that my fellow content creator J4gg3DMik3 has?

Humblest apologies if this is not the case, but if it is - are there no friends or colleagues that you could run these past just prior to launch in order to make sure that the colours flow better and fit in more appropriately?

Your ships are stupidly well made. The seem like actual machines that move between the stars. There’s a sense of weight to them. I look forward to seeing more from you.
