BCB Additive Load 6 x 4 Map - Tau Metropolis Remastered
Hey guys! I have a new map release for you today, one I have been working hard on all day. It's actually more of a remaster as I based it on an original map made by Aquinas but I figured I'd share it to the workshop as I put a lot of extra work into it, enough to make it feel like a brand new map in fact.

I really liked the original, I just felt it could use a few tweaks after I played a match of Warhammer 40k on it with a couple of my friends. We all felt it could use a little something in fact so I decided to tinker with it a bit on my day off. It was really fun to work on and I hope I've improved on a already awesome map.

First I worked on the battle mat. I improved the quality and upped the resolution making it a lot more detailed now when you are zoomed in. I tweaked quite a bit of the image but overall I quite like how it came out and I feel it really adds to the beauty of the map.

Next I fixed a few collision maps. Primarily on the corpses dotted about the city. They are awesome pieces of scatter terrain but they played havoc with your models when trying to move around/over them. Now you can step right over them and it doesn't effect your models. I added this to the barricades too as it just makes it easier to play if you're not clipping into the decorations but means you can also preserve the detail and play on a nice looking map.

Finally I added some elevation. My friends and I felt it was sorely missing on this otherwise fantastically laid out map. I achieved this by adding a custom highway through the middle of the map which you can fight on top of as well as below. I decorated it to match the overall theme of the map with a burning Devilfish near the centre. If you put an objective up there and I'm sure it'll make for some interesting conflict indeed.

It was super fun to work on this map. As I said before, I really liked the overall theme and layout of the original I just felt I could make it a little better in parts and I hope I have achieved this. :)

I hope you enjoy this map, let me know what you think in the comments below. If you could take the time to rate/favourite my mod I would greatly appreciate it as it helps others find the mod. Until next time Wargamers! :D

I didn't add more cover because I wanted to keep it somewhat faithful to the original. Cover does exist but it certainly makes you think about unit placement a lot more. Depending on where you put the objectives it can make for some really interesting battles. Perhaps I'll make another version of this map with more cover if there is more demand for it.
