A new beginning.
The Chainaxe is a missunderstood weapon and heavily looked down upon by most of the community.
Mostly due to a lack of practise and poor blessing / perk selection for the weapon.

I cannot understate the amount of times I've gone into games with my favorite loadout just to be asked "Why are you using the Chainaxe?" or "Is the Chainaxe any good?" in which I usually just reply with "Because it is a good weapon" and people usually think I'm just making a joke of some kind.

This is the usual interactions you'll have when using this weapon, which in my opinion just makes it even funnier to use the weapon, because it gives me an oppertunity to show people that everything you've been taught might not be true.
Crafting Your Meme

When crafting your Chainaxe the most important thing is to have as close to 80 in Damage, Penetration and Shredder as possible, you also want to have at least 20-25% Flak and the second perk is up to preference, you can go Maniac, Infested or Unarmoured.

Modifiers Explained:
Damage: We want the damage stat to be as high as possible for out Power and Feats to have as much impact as possible.
Mobility: Mainly a dump stat for this weapon.
Penetration: We want this to be as high as possible to increase our damage output vs Crushers when we fight them.
Defences: The higher the Defences stat the better, push and stamina cost reduction is really good for this weapon.
Shredder: Does not only affect the rev up damage of the weapon, but also increases the base damage for out light attacks.

Perks Explained:
Flak: Mixed hordes, Maulers, Scabs, Bruisers this perk is just way too good to pass up.
Maniac: Allows us to One hit a Mutant with a Reved Heavy Attack, also helps us vs Dreg Ragers.
Infested: Mixed horde cenarios mainly, we one hit dogs with a Reved Light Attack without it so not mandatory.
Unarmoured: Faster clear for normal enemies to allow us to get Slaughterer stacks faster, also helps with Dreg Shotgunners and Gunners.

Blessings Explained:
Headtaker And Slaughterer: There is no better combo for this weapon.
Headtaker gives us a 20% Power amp, and Slaughterer gives us a 75% Power amp, giving us a total of 95% power increase. This power amount allows us to one hit Groaners, Poxwalkers, Dreg Stalkers, Scab Stalkers, Scab Shooters. (And Dreg Bruisers if you're a Zealot)
Thrust: You could exchange Headtaker for Thrust if you'd like to deal with Crushers better, but in my opinion the trade off isn't worth it.
Zealot Build.
The Zealot gets two different builds with the Chainaxe depending on your curios.

Health Curio Build.
This build revolves around maximizing our damage potential while sacrificing some of our defensive capabilities.
Retribution allows us to shorten the animation of our rev attacks allowing us to move and attack more frequently.
Holy Revenant allows us to regain out lost health.

Toughness Curio Build.
With the Toughness build we swap out Retribution and Holy Revenant for Punishment and Thy Wrath Be Swift.
Punishment allows us to be more safe while fighting enemies keeping the fight more in control.
Thy Wrath Be Swift enables us to stay out of bad situations where we'd lose our Health.
Last Thoughts.
This was my guide for the Chainaxe.

Some last thoughts and words that I didn't think needed their own sections on the guide.

Veteran, You can use the Chainaxe on the Veteran as long as you use the example build of the weapon that was shown in the Crafting part of the guide you will be able to use it just fine.

Attack Combos, the main attack pattern for the Chainaxe is Push Attack>Light>Light
this pattern is the best for dealing with most enemies.

Zealot Curios, Stamina Regen is a must on all curios, you don't need + stamina curios but one wouldn't hurt.

Veteran Curios, 1-2x +3 Stamina Curios is heavily recommended with stamina regen on all 3 curios for the best experience.

Secondary Weapon, on Zealot I mainly use Kantrael Shotgun due to its versatility.
For Veteran you can pair it with any weapon you like using.

Thank you for reading my guide

to be honest, you can swich out the damage perk against flak, since your penetration against flak is around 170% with 80 penetration

I believe that Headtaker isn't adding much here with +25% damage, but Shredder could provide a +25% crit chance instead (which means 50% DR and extra +10% crit chance talents).

great guide, Darner. ty
I actually used the Chainaxe after you suggested it. It takes a few games to adjust your fight-style whilst using this weapon but it's definitely not a meme weapon, just not as "all-around" as, say, a combat axe is.
